Hello! I have a hemi swapped 1969 RR and recently installed a Dakota digital gauge cluster. I installed a push button start as well as an on/off switch for power to the hemi harness and gauges. I decided to go ahead and replace the OEM under dash harness and basically only need it to power the switches which power all the lights and wiper motor. I bought an OER under dash harness and since I’m not using the stock ignition….which wire do I need to connect to 12v power to bring power to the harness? Thanks for your help!

Normally battery power comes through the bulkhead harness to the ammeter then through the ammeter to a splice that connects the alternator output, the ignition switch for switched power, and the fuse block for un-switched power. When the ignition switch is on, it feeds the switched power side of the fuse block, and in run position feeds the power to the engine harness for ignition and voltage regulator.

Actually figured it out last night …I have one of those huge colored wiring diagrams…I basically ran 12v power to the red wire on the ignition switch and then ran a jumper from the black wire to the red wire so that the windshield wiper motor gets power from that same 12v source as well …
