Regular old white distilled worked for me. I Hope you Had a merry Christmas Lew. Oh yeah, after you are happy with it they say to soak in warm water with baking soda for a few minutes to neutralize the acid , dry quickly and treat before flash rust begins.
There we go , I just saw that I have a decent before shot in my 440 gallery. This is after 3 days no sanding.(still have to smooth out the pitting though) The rest of the brackets on the engine that I could fit just went in the tub.
I am looking for a block warmer to put in this 440 when the time comes. The kind that fits into the freeze plug and plugs into a 110 outlet is preferred , i cant seem to find a part number for it. I used to have one in a small block 318 and it saved me lots of idle and warm up time not to mention fuel(from idling every morning) Would anyone know of such a thing , or maybe point me in the right direction??
