Why does my taillight fuse blow when I turn the lights on?

Pull all tail light bulbs. Inspect sockets for cracked and broken deformed contacts.

Short circuit. as mentioned check that the bulbs are correct for the sockets. I would remove all the bulbs and inspect sockets and wiring, the see if fuse blows with bulbs removed.
If it still blows, remove the drivers side kick panel and disconnect the rear wiring harness from the connector to see if the problem is in the dash area.

Door sill screw into harness wire?
No, it still did it once I had the still and kick panel off but not yet unplugged harness.
The car has been together since 2010 and just started doing this last week.
I might not get a chance to inspect each socket for a couple days, got football camp for my boy the next couple nights.

I missed it but I assume you were helpful as usual...

It's either a 'live' wire rubbing on the body of it's own lampholder - or it could be the trunk light fitting if such is attached.
