Why does my taillight fuse blow when I turn the lights on?

Here's the problem, pass side marker light. When I took the bulb out it is now all loose. Out the bulb back in, loose. Wiggle it around and it'll light up and then spark. Doesn't blow the fuse with the car off of course.
The other side is tight so I can't see what's inside it, should there be more filling? What holds it in place?

Heat has melted the plastic insulator and allowed the spring to move around inside the 'barrel' of the housing and the positive 12 Volts has contacted the negative (grounded) casing.

Good find, and I'll take that as a win.
You can actually buy those from Amazon or possible even Rock Auto.

Got it, so the spring should be completely encased in the silicone?

No, but it should stand straight inside the housing - the melted plastic has allowed it to tilt and move around. Probably moved when you were stacking your lawn chairs in for a car show....or something moved while driving.

While the bilsteins have helped I'd say the BFG's don't have enough lateral grip to cause a load shift lol
But yes I must have caught that wire at some point.

Now guess the stable mate. I'll tell you it's my 72 yr old mom's but that won't help you much...

I do eat better than that when the wife is home. I'm just too lazy to cook for myself:popcorn:
Good to hear that ....the Dirty Bird will kill us all eventually.

I know the Ebody dimmer switch is garbage, and when I rotate it, it shorts out. I don't know if the bbody is just as bad.
The thumbwheel panel dimmer on b-bodies can fail and cause the same problem. Had same issue with my Bee. Turns out it’s the dimmer switch.
