I am installing a stand alone MSD Distributor that only requires the two wires from the distributor to the coil. I also need a 12 volt wire to the positive side of the coil. If I no longer need the ballast resistor, which wire do I use for the coil?

There is a brown blue double wire on the left side of the ballast. The brown wire goes back to the bulkhead and the blue went out to the original coil. On the other side of the ballast is a blue wire that connects to a dark blue/white wire on the left side of the alt. regulator. The blue/white wire runs back to the bulkhead.

The distributor is going into a '69 RT 440 engine.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

I am not 100% sure.... but I think the Coil is the one who needs the balllast resistor.... I bought a new MSD Blaster Coil... the coil came with the matching ballast resistor.... I know the wiring diagram from MSD... looks like 12 V direkt from the Ign switch... but the Coil sayssoething different.....

..little update
Called MSD they told me that the ballast resistor is no longer nessecary If I use the Blaster 2 Coil together with the MSD Stand alone Dizzy..
The coil works with 12 Volts so does the Dizzy... Only if someone uses the Mopar Electronic Dizzy with the Ign Box... the BR is needed
Greetings Juergen
