Yankee Express RestoMod Project

I'll get them one at a time. Fronts will be 7" wide. Tires will also be one at a time; 2ea 29x15.50 x 15 M/T or Hoosier. And 2ea 26 x 8.50 x 15. Should be ready to 'roll' in April or before...lol.

The whole thing is expensive to begin with, no doubt about it. You start mixing apples with oranges, it takes on a new process. Do what you have to do, just don't stop!! LOL. I'm pretty stoked about this car!!

I'm determined to finish it. After unhooking myself from the meds I have a clearer mind, not so listless. I can focus more. I'm consciously trying to stay OUT of my easy chair during the day. If I sit down in that thing i'm stuck. I try to further the project every day. I'm intent on getting it painted before winter sets in so I can be assembling it over this winter. My wifes issues are taking up a lot of my time so I have to get out there when I can.

Finished the rest of the body filler. Put another coat of primer on her.

VANDAN's blue Dart paint job got me thinkin' about the hood on the Express. I had thought to do this:

But now I think i'll do this: minus the scoops that is.....

2 1/2" from the lip and from the frame. Centered. On the left side so the right side should be okay as well.

Flip a coin, It's pretty busy looking in the center where both colors come together. Either would look good, in my opinion.

I'm thinking the right chrome wont look right next to the polished aluminum AND will make reflections in the polished black cap. Whereas black ones will not reflect negatively in the cap and will blend with the wheel colors better.

These aren't the wheels that i really want but they ARE the ones that I can afford, and that are the correct backspace and the right colors if I cant afford plated.

Since you asked, I think the wheels look "interesting" in the sense that I'd have to see them on a painted car with tires to really get the visual. That said, I think they will work and if they give you the back space you are looking for and are the right size AND you like them, its all good.

Agree with that. The car will very close to Turbine bronze color with black roof and black panels on the hood. These wheels should look nice with that scheme. Blacked out windows too. Black wall tires, 13" wide tread/ 29.50 tall on the rear and 8" tread on the front 26" tall.
