Cool. But I'm going to do everything I can to not drill holes in that panel.I don't have trunk dress up covers over my Barracuda latch. I drilled a 1-1/4" hole in the fold down panel center just below the single latch. I was able to unlatch it but I had things stored in the trunk that kept me from opening it even a couple inches. I was able to see the latch through the hole so I hammered one end of a 4' length of 1/4" rod into a flat blade. Bent a 90° on the other. With a small flashlight and some precision stabbing, I was able to hit the target and turn the latch.

If you are persistent and patient, use a metal putty knife that is thin and flexible to open the two latches on the trunk panel. Then a flat screwdriver to open the trunk latch.Cool. But I'm going to do everything I can to not drill holes in that panel.
