plymouth

Another thing about this car, it has "floaters" in the rear, does anyone have a clue what that is?? When I rode in this car, it made a "whap, whap" noise in the rear when the driver backed off the accelerator. He said yeah it makes noise, but really helps traction and the noise is normal for floaters. I have no idea what floaters are, but I think I'd have them removed, although the car probably needs all the traction it can get.

OK, well I did find Cam fuel at a circle track about 50 miles away, but it's now at $7.75/gallon. So, it's possible for me, but damn inconvenient. Nothing like a pump gas engine.

I have found a 62 plymouth 413 up in Cleveland that he says is pump gas engine and the right price, if not already sold. I can't even get to Cleveland in this weather. I have to see that one first.

Bump for a bad *** 63 Plymouth. P.s. That is why I have a 500 stroker 550 horse engine on my stand that I can run 87 in lol.

If the 62 you are talking about is the one I am posting a link to then it is a nice ride. I spoke with the owner about a possible trade.

Umm, excuse me for saying...but you just highjacked my for sale thread, bro.

what are floaters?
floaters allow the rear to rotate with the ladder bar on the rear end have to run them with a ladder bar and leaf spring set up

That is exactly correct.

I can sell as a roller AND deliver to your door...:headbang:

Yep, dartforforty, that's the same 62 I want to look at. But it has no cross ram like this 63, so a lot of comparison to do. The cross ram manifold (repro) with Edlebrock's, linkage and repro air cleaners is gonna cost me $3K from A&A Automotive. The good thing is I don't have to go and load up with CAM2 gas at $7.75/gallon. I have to drive up to Cleveland to look at it, I have seen this 63 already. Both nice cars. Going to Cleveland in this weather is going to be bad.

Just try to sit down and watch Glen Beck, read the papers and watch the news about $5/gal gas and then tell your wife that you want to buy a $16K toy. Hard to do that. These are HARD and CRAZY times.

I got a call today from a dealer in Ohio who has been trying to sell a really nice red 63 max wedge plymouth for six months and he was just calling the people who nibbled at the ad to see if they're still interested. Yes, but not for $26K. That's not a bad price for that particular car, in better times it would be $35K. Not now though. The owner needs to keep it for 10 years until all this blows over and then try to sell it.

As bad as the old car market is, Florida real estate is even worse. My wife's mom has a condo in Bradenton that her family needs to sell to keep her in the rest home and my wife went on the internet last night and saw that prices are STILL dropping. The real estate agent down there said it will be a decade before home prices rebound.

The problem is, the old retired union guys in Toledo and Dearborn want to sell their homes and move to Florida but, guess what, the real estate market up there is as hot as a dead mule. Sooooo, no one is buying in Florida.

So the basic problem is that this car, and others, are fairly priced, it's just that everyone is afraid to write the check. Personally, I think maybe all this gloom will pass somewhat when Spring comes and the snow, ice and mud are gone. Then cars will start to move again. It'll sell.

11.20 every time, with more in it.

I think she may very well have a 10.80 in her somewhere.
