Yup, right here in town. A local Mopar restorer (I've never mentioned him or his business in any previous posting from me) has had this car for over 10 yrs. A soldier or maybe an Airman dropped it off a long time ago to get restored, but, never showed back up or called for it, and never gave any serious money to get the work done, so, it's all stock. I understand ads/notices were placed in newspapers years ago calling for this person to claim his car, etc. However, the car has never been claimed. It's sitting in the weeds, it's a rust bucket, but probably no worse than my GTX! I didn't crawl under it as it only has about a few inches of clearance as it's sunk down a bit. It has a 440, which is seized up. The local guy who now 'owns' it by default said he'd sell it complete, I think he said $3500.00, I don't know if it's a 4 spd, what rear end it has, or if it's an N96 car. However, I can check this all out for anyone if they are interested in acquiring this car? From what I can tell, all the sheet metal is shot, so, someone insane enough like me can go to work on it?!

Let me know if anyone is serious, I will call him up, take pics and post them here.

a title would cost about 300.00 at Broadwaytitle.com, totaly legal did it my self. check it out!

Ok, I was eating at my favorite Italian eatery today, and my pals next door where the RR is 'stored' were there, I went in and took these pics!

Wow that is in bad shape. No way he is going to get $3500.00 for that.He may be able to get $1000.00 if the engine is not locked up. Jim

Two Words: "Scrap Metal"...

Only if it were a "J" or "M" code would that be worth even considering that undertaking...and maybe not even then... Too many decent projects still out there to subject oneself to that misery... JMHO

So it's a base model Road Runner?

So it's a base model Road Runner?

RM23H9G: '69 Hardtop 383 car built in St. Louis. It has some nice options including the performance hood treatment - so it's hardly a "base model"...

I based my comments on what you can see...and knowing that based on where/how long it has been sitting and that it's what you can't see that's likely going to be the deal breaker...making it an unjustifiable money pit since it's not a high dollar car... Perhaps it might be another story if someone wanted to tackle it anyway because it was their former high school ride and where they tore off their first piece...one can never discount sentimental attachment...

So do all Road Runners have the RM23H9G code on the vin or data tag.

So do all Road Runners have the RM23H9G code on the vin or data tag.

All 68-75 RR's will have RM for the model designation.

The 23 = hard top body style. Other numbers in this location could be 21 for Coupe or 27 for convertible ('69 and '70 only).

H = engine designation. In this case, H=383 4bbl. The letters J = Hemi and M= 440-6 in 69. This will vary by year and engines available.

9 = model year. This will be the last number of the model year.

G = assembly plant. Other plants like Lynch Road, LA or Windsor built RRs through the years.

The engine code for a 440+6 in 70 is "V". My 70 'runner post coupe is RM21V...

In 69 the engine code for a 440 six pack was an "M". It changed for 70 and 71. Just like "J" used to be for a Hemi, but that changed to an "R"in 70. "J" was then used for the T/A motor, 340 six pack. Also, the 383 4v designation changed from "H" to "N" in 70

so yeah. what they all said:grin:

Just go on AMD's website and make a price list of all the metal that will have to be replaced. Then compare that to the $18-20K restored value the car would have. Maybe they'll get the message.
