We are taking our time because of the heat,110* today. So we got the freeze plugs, got the crank in and used plasti gauge to check tolerances and torque down. Put the rings on all the pistons, chased all the threads, They didn't let me do much,Karl, Asa, my middle son did most of all the work.

Cliff, I hope you see now that you have some truely good friends. Maybe this will help you rise outta the funk you've been in. I sure hope it does. I know what it's like to be there......I still am.

Looks like you better buy stock in AMD! You will have some hard work ahead of you but oh what a nice car it will be when done! Something to be proud of for sure. Good luck with your build and keep the pictures coming!

Thank you, a few years ago this would not be possible. Now with new repop parts coming out and good donor cars. I really can get this car done and do it the way I want.

We got all 8 pistons in without problems which was great. We did not know what was about to happen.

Karl had a dye to break apart while cleaning bolts, so we had to go find a replacement. 2 hours of driving around to find one. So while we were gone Asa cleaned up some surface rust on the heads with a wire wheel.

Here is when the first problem we ran into thanks to a machine shop because they wanted to take a short cut. once we got this taken care of (proper threaded allen head plug) we got the oil pump drive in.

Here is when the first problem we ran into thanks to a machine shop because they wanted to take a short cut. Luckily Karl had a Mancini freeze plug kit which included the correct pipe plug. Once we got this taken care of (proper threaded allen head plug) we got the oil pump drive in.
Side note that plug was a bushing that the machine shop put in.
