What is the quietest muffler that flows really well? I'm looking for Cadillac quiet.
Depending on your HP level, the Walker line of Ultra flows are pretty quiet especially with an "X" pipe.I went with the Hooker aero chambers, but my HP is slightly more than average for a streeter.
Dynomax super turbos. No drone, just sweet. The Dynomax super turbo is one of the quietest while still out flowing many other mufflers, but it is not OEM quiet.
I din't know of any quiet 3" mufflers, 2.5" has a wider selection of quiet mufflers.
The FAQ on Dynomax says the super turbo is quieter than the Ultra-Flow, but does not mention where the Dynomax VT (has an internal valve) is on the sound scale (I guess because sound will change by RPM?)
I have a set of Walker Quiet-flow SS mufflers (OEM replacement style for an Imperial #22154) that I want to try on my car, but they don't claim to flow as well as the performance mufflers. These are quite a bit longer (25" case, 29" overall) than the Super turbo mufflers (20" case, 25" overall) I have on the car currently, so I need to see what it will take to get them installed.

The Dyno-Max Ultra-Flows are one of the best flowing mufflers as they are straight thru. The Super Turbo mufflers are not as loud but will not flow as good as the Ultra-Flows. I guess you need to weigh out noise or performance as which is most important to you. Ron
