Anybody using adjustable strut rods?

Hey James, just checking on any progress with the poly bushed adjustable strut rods?

Have you driven your car with these yet? Curious on how they feel and handle.

I'm very happy with how the car handles now, 110% better than it was. My family Chev Suburban handled better than the Challenger before I started the mods.

Car looks great Bigs!:headbang:

Thanks Brad! Check out NIKKI on P-S-T facebook page!

Hi James-
what's going on with the clocking on those 1.03 bars? I bought a set last year and both ends of the hex are in line with one another; is that the way they're supposed to be or is that an 'issue'? I'm trying to get this car together and was just wondering if I was going to have any problem(s) with these bars and the clocking/indexing in order to keep it low or ?!? I noted the OEM/production torsion bars are approx 1/2 flat off from one another. Would you mind telling me what that means? Thanks...

Yes the bars that you would have received would have been flat-flat.

Are you running a big block or a small block in your car ? I asked this because we have sold hundreds of these bars with only a handful of customers claiming a ride height issue and of those issues they were all with big block cars. But with about half of those customers it was a clocking issue upon installation and we were able to work with them. The main reason that we did the redesign was that it was time to re-order from the forge and it was the perfect time to make the change and allow for more clocking/ride height adjustment.

In the later part of last year PST decide to re-engineer our B & E body torsion bars. We worked with a well known Mopar Guru to re- index the bars 20 degree from the position that we previous had which was flat-flat.PST new torsion bars are now in from manufacturer that we use in the USA and are ready for sale. They are same 1.03" bars but with the new re-indexing to eliminated the issue that somecustomers claimed with ride height being to low. We are very excited about it. If you do place and order please ask for theNEW RE-INDEXED Torsion bars.

If you have any question please do not be afraid to ask.

Thanks
James

Thanks James. Since these are new and the car's a conversion from being my former stock eliminator drag car, I felt I needed to ask to avoid any misunderstandings. To answer the engine question, yes, it's an Rb (440) in the '71 Satellite platform. How much 'loading' or actual height of the torsion bars is suggested for the lower ride height, as that's what I'm looking for in stance as-well-as performance handling; nothing real low but well below production ride ht. Any & all suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks...wb

Most customers would see a stances between 1-2 inches lower than stock as there are many variable (for example running aluminum heads and intake vs cast iron) But for piece of mind if you would like you can send them back and I will exchange them out for you with one of our new designs if you haven't already installed.

Thanks
James

James:

Just put an order in and check your PM. Thanks!

Just put my order in for them.

Hi James-
Just curious as to the strut/t-bar posts:
with these (1st gen 1.03 bars) with the hexs aligned flat-flat vs a 20-30* offset clocking, which one will yield the lower installed height/stance? Thanks again for your help and the info...wb

We had some customers with Big Block experience a lower ride height (1-1 1/2")with our original flat-flat. But this was only with the big block cars about 10% of big block customers. So the flat-flat yielded a lower stance in some cases.

Thanks
James

I haven't looked at this thread for awhile. That being said I've got a few miles on the mods I did. Its a whole different car, worth the time and effort!
