I want to put a set of SS springs on the coronet. Call me ignorant but i can't find any instructions on the installation. I do know they will require new hangers. Anyone already go through this exercise?
Don't mean to steal the thread but for everyone above, what brand of springs do have or who did you purchase them through? Also 3400lbs, 3600lbs, or other? I want the front and rear to sit up a bit. Thanks.
Manifold, how much did they raise your car up?
That's true. Don't want the back to be raised up but I don't want it sagging either. For the street, I'd go with the XHD springs and if you want more ride height, have them rearched. From what I've read, it's hit or miss with folks getting lift out of an XHD spring. The extra heavy duty springs are biased (as are SS springs) and modeled after the stock springs of a 440 or Hemi car. You may not get lift, but you'll have less spring wrap.
What are the lowering blocks made of?I installed the 002/003 springs on my Dart and it raised the rear 5 1/2 inches.
On my 65 Belvedere the 456/457 's raised the rear 4 3/4 inches.
Both way too high for my taste. The Dart is low HP (less than 250 rear wheel)so I added 2" lowering blocks. Works well but I would like to know if they would take any real HP.
Didn't want to try with the B-Body.
So, Miller, you are saying the front hangers do no have to be relocated for the super stock springs?
Thanks,
