Has anyone fit one of the HEI distributors to an Air Grabber car?

Looking at this eBay job

Or possibly a Pertronix

I've read that they may not allow clearance for some air cleaners and valve covers, and was wondering if anyone here has used these, and what their experience with fitment might be.
It would be going on a 70 RR with a 383 that has Mopar Performance valve covers and an Air Grabber.

i bought one of these a couple of years back for a cyclone and it really was a great value.
the pertronix was 79 bucks and the whole distributor was 120.
pretty much a no brainer there.
i was looking at this or one like it on the bay for my 383 too,so be interesting to see the replies.

they dont mention the advance curves, anyone got feedback on that?

Well, I bit the bullet and bought the knockoff all in one hei dizzy. Actually managed to get the 383 one for $75 on eBay, so I figured it was worth the risk.
I'll let you know how it goes. Should be interesting!

The issue that these have in a B engine is closing the hood. They do work well for the A engine, as far as clearance. Might be better off with a more reliable setup or can install a card in the glove box for the wrecker of your choice.

So the distributor came, and it is indeed too tall. The entire unit measures about 15" from top to bottom, and the length from the mounting flange to the top of the cap is about 12.5".
Way too tall for a 383 on a 70 RR with Air Grabber. And it may have not even let the hood close. I could see it working on other cars though. Hopefully this helps other people thinking about trying this out.

Put a Pertronix in your Chrysler distributor, thats what i did and it works great.get the Ignitor II and use their coil and you can bypass the ballast resistor.
