2015 5th Annual FABO NHRA "Pick 'Em" Game - Are You Ready To Make Your Picks???

Tuesday-before-the-event reminder for the upcoming Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA! The final event of the "Western Swing".
Pro Qualifying starts at 5:300PM EDT (2:30PM PDT) Friday, August 7.
Your picks must be posted to this game thread before the start of Pro Qualifying. Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock will compete at this event. Pro Stock Motorcycle returns to competition in two weeks at Brainerd, MN.
The NHRA website currently shows 17 Top Fuel, 16 Funny Car and 16 Pro Stock entries for the Northwest Nationals, but this could still possibly change.

Please continue to check to verify your picks are racing at each event. We still have two players with a "locked in" Pro Stock pick of Rodger Brogdon. He recently sold his entire Pro Stock operation to Elite Motorsports and will not be competing the remainder of the season.
Also, Jeg Coughlin Jr. will be competing in an Elite Motorsports entry in Pro Stock at the Northwest Nationals.

You can find the current event entry list at
http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist16.aspx

The extended weather forecast for the Seattle area shows temps from 78-82F with a 20% chance of some rain on Saturday and 30% on Sunday.

Good Luck!

Did I miss the points standings after Sonoma?

TF Schumacher
FC Fast Jack
PS Greg Anderson

Good Luck all!

Here are my Seattle picks:

TF: Antron Brown
FC: Fast Jack
PS: Chris McGaha

I want to pick Tim Wilkerson - Seattle has been good to him over the years. But I have to go with the hot hand of Jimmy Prock and the Western Swing sweep for Jack. I'm hoping Magaha has it dialed in now, and can repeat.

Good luck guys!

Ill go with

TF Antron Brown
FC Matt Hagan
PS Greg Anderson

Did I miss the points standings after Sonoma?

Patience, grasshopper.
No, you didn't miss them. Last weekend was extremely busy with a combination of my wife's birthday on Saturday, our monthly Inland Mopars Car Club meeting and annual summer picnic on Sunday, and friends from Australia in town all at the same time. I needed to play 'tour guide' in addition to the Saturday and Sunday activities. I didn't see any NHRA qualifying on Saturday or the NASCAR race on Sunday. I recorded the NHRA eliminations on Sunday and finally finished watching them Monday night.
Our Australian friends are flying back to Oz tonight so I'll get the updated NHRA game standings posted late tonight.

Here are the results and point standings following completion of the Sonoma Nationals in the midst of the bay-area orchards.
Congratulations to 'alsant' (FBBO) for being the top picker this week with 163.5 points. He picked the class winners in both Funny Car and Pro Stock Motorcycle, his Pro Stock pick went to the semis before losing, and his Top Fuel pick went one round of eliminations. He was also helped with E.T. bonus points in Funny Car and Pro Stock Motorcycle, and also with the National E.T. Record bonus points in Funny Car. Outstanding!
'Gpuller' (FBBO) is event runner-up (again) with a very nice total of 150.5 points with a class winner picks in both Funny Car and Pro Stock Motorcycle. Could be some great #'s tonight...

Congrats to 'Gpuller' (FBBO) and 'Back in Time' (FABO) for sharing the Top Qualifier title for the 2015 Northwest NHRA Nationals with an outstanding total of 22.0 bonus points. They both picked the #1 qualifier in Funny Car, the #2 qualifier in Top Fuel and the #4 qualifier in Pro Stock.
'64bel' (FBBO) and 'alsant' (FBBO) share the runner-up spot with 20.5 bonus points.
Great picks all!

19 active players this week and 5 players with 'carry over' picks from the last event. Remember, the "pick carry over" feature is only in effect for the "regular season". It will not be in effect for the six-event "Countdown to the Championship" following the US Nationals.
19 different driver combos this week made up of:
* 4 different Top Fuel drivers. One Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #5 qualifier Larry Dixon (2 picks) and #12 qualifier Doug Kalitta (2 picks). There are no possibilities of any head-to-head matchup in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 6 different Funny Car drivers with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #8 qualifier Ron Capps (1 pick) and #9 qualifier Matt Hagan (7 picks). There is a possibility of two head-to-head matchup in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 8 different Pro Stock drivers picked this week with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #6 qualifier Allen Johnson (5 picks) and #11 qualifier Larry Morgan (1 pick). There is a possibility of two head-to-head matchups in the 2nd round of eliminations.

Good luck all!
