Want To Raise My Rear (No jokes please)

Perfect solution is the "Add a Lift" you can buy from Summit Racing for about $40. They're like a couple of mini leaf springs that you add to your leafs. Will give you about a 2" lift. I did exactly that on my GTX and worked superbly.

What's wrong with air shocks? You can adjust it to exactly where you want it.

Or have your springs re arced and if need be add a leaf

This would be my choice of action. I tried the air-shock thing once.....never again. makes the car to unstable, and if incorrectly inflated can lead to serious problems. :steering:

Do you have a item number?

I inserted a single leaf each side from Summit. Truck leafs. Cut to size. Gave just under 1 1/2 inch lift. Perfect for my needs. HD suspension had just a little sag, and with luggage and beer was hanging a little.

1st,,,,you didn't show us a pic! You could lower the front to get your stance,,,,or shim the rear to desired height.

Just a couple of inches. Thinking about buying a pair of these lowering front spring mounts, and turning them upside down. Any good or not ? Any suggestions other than air shocks I'm open to them. And yes I'm aware of the change of pinon angle.

I don't see why that wouldn't work. As long as there is no offset on the hanger and you are content with your current spring arch and performance. May loose a little top out of the shocks.

The best way to get the rear end higher (no joke intended) is to use leaf springs. Air bags is another possibility. Some people use longer rear hangers. That's ok too so long at you don't go crazy with them. Moving the rear hanger mounts 1" won't create problems. I've used air shocks too and on a lot of cars with no problems but I usually didn't use them for more than 1" of rise. Air shocks for 1" of rise (usually around 15-20 psi) and a slightly longer rear hanger should get you about 2". If you do use air shocks, make sure your upper shock mount cross member is in good shape and is welded in good. Also, never use a single line kit with a T to the shocks because when you turn a corner or go into a curve at speed, the shock that gets compressed will force air over to the other shock and will make the can handle like crap.....so always use a separate line kit. Each should NEEDS to have it's own air line for best handling.

How do you shim the rear to raise the rear of the car?

Take out the luggage but leave the beer. Fixed

Reaching is no permanent solution, as they tend to flatten out in time. Adding a leaf is a good suggestion. Thanks

I contacted the seller of the spring brackets, he said I'd have to drill holes as the holes would not line up with the holes in the frame. I have to get under the car, and see it that's what can be done with the existing brackets. I hate to spend money I don't have to. And thanks for all your responses.
