Good news and BAD news - oil pressure gauge install on my 440

AND, there is no hammering sound.
Always a bonus. :)
I've heard it once, during a rather exuberant burnout. Knocking from below, oil pressure idiot light lit up. Scared hell out of me.
When I posted about it, another FBBO member said "welcome to the fun world of stock 440 oil pans". :wtf:
Apparently these critters can drain the stock pans and send all the oil into the upper end of the motor during such shenanigans.
Yikes.

Update (and a fresh problem!) 7-28-16:
Out with the electric gauge, in with the mechanical:

Braided Russell pressure line installed in place of the electric ones' sending unit, routed through the firewall harness retainers.

Extra hose looped up under the dash, some sort of weird adapter used to connect to the 1/8" compression connection in the rear of the gauge.
No leaks. Gauges lit up, readings @ nearly cold engine shown.

So...success on gauge install.
Now for the bad part:
I got the bright idea to put in another quart of oil, since I heard the dreaded rattle in the motor again the other day. On the chance that the fancy chrome dipstick was lying to me, I threw another quart in there just in case, for a total of 6.
As I was idling the engine and revving it some to check the gauge operation, all of a sudden the engine acted like it dropped a cylinder and ran noticeably rougher and the idle dropped so low as not to keep running without gas pedal assist.
Fouled a plug maybe?
I checked over wires, carb, turned off the lights and watched for arcs, etc.
Nothing.
Is it possible the thing oil fouled a plug from having too much oil in it?

All I can say for sure is that an extra qt of oil does nothing to alleviate whatever that rattle is. Stay with the factory recommended 5 qts.

X2.........I don't think an extra quart would do this on a V8 either.

I reckon I'll pull plugs and have a look. What it's acting like is exactly like a fouled plug - it hits sometimes at higher RPM and doesn't at lower speeds.

Plugs are out:

Anybody see anything? I sure don't.
