Coronet colored headlights...

image.jpg

There she is , couple coats of Krylon spray paint and boom...

I've looked everywhere for that paint, looked online where it's sold, but not in stock, going to order some yellow. Looks good.

My 67 GTX had blue cling film on the inner headlights (you could put it on and take it off at will), polished radiator top, hood and trunk stripes with gold outlines, bonus 68/69 GTX side stripes, huge traction bars and 8 inch wide Torque Thrust wheels that rubbed the rear wheel wells when I bought it. The 70 some year old guy and old school racer I bought it from apparently liked it like that. I thought the money spent could have been better spent on making some of the original stuff work (radio, speaker with no paper remaining, antennae with no lead to plug into the radio, wiper park issues, horn, windshield washer, speedometer, air conditioner, alternator that discharged battery if you used the headlights, console lights, dome light, disintegrated glove box) and plugging a few fluid leaks (brake fluid, power steering fluid, oil and differential grease).

It even had front plate that said "Engineered like no other car in the world." I thought that must have been an old Mopar saying, but looked it up and found it was Mercedes instead.

Even my Joe Dirt personna thought the stuff added was a little much. That was all gone as fast as I could get it off the car. Of course the stripes pulled some of the clearcoat! Why would I have expected otherwise?

The car now has Magnum wheels, looks bone stock, everything works and it leaves no spots in my garage.

Now if you want to change the outside headlights to high/low beams, remove the inner lights and use the baskets to feed a dual snorkel air cleaner, I would be all for that. The old school drag racing version of the Hellcat supercharger fake headlight air intake. Something functional.

If it does not improve function it is like a coffee can exhaust on a Civic. More show, but no more go.

I bought mine at Hobby Lobby, they had like 6 different colors also, plus it was only like 6 bucks.

That 67 is amazing, I love the black and red. You don't happen to have a pic of it as was when you bought it do you???

That is when I bought it! I took all that stuff off. Red stripes with gold edges not my taste. The side stripes were definitely wrong on a 67. Factory red 4 inch stripes look good on the car.

This is the car as it looks now. Pretty much factory look with the exception of the BF Goodrich T/A's. Original type red hood and trunk stripes and redline tires may be coming soon.

Note the tag.

My mistake, I read through it wrong LOL, either way I would love to have a car that nice. And imo redline tires are really cool I drove a 66 hemi coronet when I was 16 and it had redlines ... So nice.
