Where to purchase complete, restored 440?

Is there anyone out there that sells complete, fresh and fully restored 440's? When I say "restored", I mean complete from carb to pan, fan to flex plate. Correct valve covers, distributor, plug wires, carb, etc., a complete drop in piece? I'm looking to upgrade the engine in my '71 Satellite to a 440 and am willing to pay a premium for a nicely done complete engine. GYC? Anyone else? Thanks.

If you are not looking at a restoration, you can get a 500 ci, 600 hp setup from Indy for $10,150 from carb to pan including ignition. I don't think you get a water pump, fan or flex plate with it though.

I've contacted this guy because he had a dated block I was looking for. He churns out 440s pretty consistently. Uses goodies in a fairly competent street setup. But I think he only does turnkey, so if you're not looking to chase parts and build it yourself, him or a builder like him is a good bet and you'll pay $8500-$10,000.

Side note: When a mopar question comes up, invariably someone always says "contact GYC" (especially on facebook). Not an option here.
 
When doing this check to see if you currently have a cast or forged crank and the one you purchase matches. Internal verses external balancing. May need to change convertors.
 
You might check with Jim LaRoy. IQ52 on here, he could build it how ever you want!
 
Thanks for the info guys. I'm not looking for a totally date correct, date coded spark plug wire type restoration, but I do want the engine to look correct and appear as stock as possible (valve covers, manifolds, carb, etc.).
 
IQ52 as stated in a previous post or Mike at MRL Performance would be my 2 top picks.

Just curious, I have never bought a Indy engine but I know some guys who have and they were well pleased. Why would you not buy from them?
 
Going direct has a bad reputation,indy has great products but their customer service sucks.The QC is NOT the best,it's a crap shoot.Much better off dealing with one of their vendors Like Bob George or Marsh.
I have read so many horror stories of guys dealing direct with Indy.:thumbsup:
 
I would buy a stock build long block from jim laroy and dress it up for 1971 with reproduction and used/nos parts. Tonys parts did a whole segment on what to look for in big block valve covers year to year and those kind of engine details, call him he is a forum sponsor. GYC farms out their motors from what I've seen, aside from one hemi build they did in a later season.
