1968 Charger, Ray Barton 528 Hemi, Pro-touring.

So all of your politicians live off shore and the wind farms collect the wind generated from the hot air? Thats a pretty wild set up you work off of. And yes, the bro in law is on an oil rig.

I wish..

Just got a call that interior has atleast arrived in Sweden! :welcome:
It is from a 2017 Challenger with only a few miles on it so I am hoping it is still in mint condition as the ad said.. I believe I will try and use the console as well. It will be nice to be able to fit some additional gauges in it, just bought a wideband lambda controller from Innovate that I will try and fit in the console somehow. Also looking into adding an oiltempgauge or fuelpressure next to it. And hey, cupholders!
About the interior, I have seen some attempts to fit the rear seat but the headrests protrude way too much for my taste. I have only seen one installation that looks nice and it is actually here in Sweden, Steven Järudds SRT8 Coronet. Talked to him once and he seems like a nice guy so maybe he can give me some pointers on how he did it.. It seems the backrest is sectioned in some places? The armrest seems shorter etc..
Stole the picture below my interior from this website if you are interrested to read about his Coronet:

It is painted now but I think it was almost cooler as it was before:p

I am a little weird I guess because even though I am going the pro-touring route with updated interior etc I still feel like keeping the original radio and do a FM-conversion. Have searched around some and I am close to deciding on Aurora Design's FMR-2 and BTU-2. I have not found any dealer in Sweden of course so I am trying to get either a Brittish or U.S dealer to send me the parts so I can install it myself. I have an electronics background that I need to dust off again but I am confident I can do it still..:realcrazy:
Sending the radio back and forth the atlantic would be ridiculously expensive.
Has anyone here tried out this conversion? I did a search on the forum but to no luck.

The old AM just looks so nice where it sits.. However, if this does not work out I will probably just throw in a double-din display monster in between the new console and the dashbord. I need good audio, used to compete some in the good old days(for me that means the late nineties when I was in my twenties and had hair:icon_fU:).

Just a couple more days offshore and than I am heading home.. Gonna be nice tasting that going-home-airport-beer again.

Did a 800km roadtrip yesterday to collect parts.
All front-end parts and chassis stiffening from US encartools, interior, borgeson. The guy helping me to get all this stuff from abroad has a long history of trading with mopar b-bodies between US and Sweden and has a barn full of mopar stuff.. this is very helpful for me since my 68 is so incomplete. Got a good deal in all this misc stuff missing..
And the Ray Barton Hemi needed a good friend to have his back.. bought a never-used Dana 60 with a 3.73 ratio. The 8-3/4" has to go.. It is meant to be under an E-body so I guess it is like 50mm to wide? Not gonna effect me since I am getting rid of the wheelhouse hump to get the wheels as close as possible to the wheelarches and also using euro-spec rims..

Any good ideas of what to do about this?

Received some more miscellaneous stuff, linear actuators (50mm stroke) for the headlight doors since I'm removing the air stuff and some really nice 3D-printed hood turnsignal-holders. Just need the amber lenses now. Wired them up with warm-white LED strips. Looks good imo.

Jesus Christ, it's been a long time since I updated this build here. Been busy with home improvements but have got something done.
Finished the rotisserie but but haven't turned the car yet, a bit nervous..
Used strip-all to clean up the dash and sprayed it with epoxy primer.
Found a vinyl from 3M that I liked. It is woodgrain finish but not the standard brown that. I have always liked the Mercedes avantgarde interior wood so I found something similar. Maybe not to everyones liking but I think it looks awesome!

@747mopar
In the 2015+ Challengers those holes contains i.e AC control buttons. Maybe I should just cover them with something.

Didn't even notice those, I was looking at the cup holders. I'd think about everything you may add to the car like an A/F meter, aftermarket heater controls, stereo, etc that may look nice placed in there and if nothing comes to mind maybe just turn it into a small compartment? I think it would look nicer being used rather than looking like your covering something... just my thoughts.

I agree, the A/F meter would look good there.
Can probably place the switches for cut-outs and line-lock there as well...

Painted the dash, vent outlets and cigarett tray today. Did it outside but I was lucky, no dust, no wind and no insects! Used a satin black 2K paint and sprayed with a proper paint gun. I think it turned out well.
It dryed pretty fast so I couldn't stop myself from prefitting parts
For a guy used to work on old Mercedes cars I was surprised how poor fitment these parts have! Everything needs some tweaks here and there it seems.

Cleaned all pads with brakeclean since they had some goey stuff on them? Afterwards I greased and cleaned them with "Geyon Vinyl Clean". Worked really well, looks good imo.
Not finished lining everything up though..

Fabricated an aluminium glove compartment so I can fit the new fuse box on the right side instead and also get rid of the crappy old cardboard.
Will dress it with some speakercarpet on the inside when finished.

Had a slight setback today when I trialfitted the new hood. Discovered that the inner fenders and the radiator cowl are slightly bent:wtf:

If you remember, I had the framerails straightened but they missed out on the fenders and cowl. So I sent it back...

As you've found, when you get the frame straightened, you need to hang the other panels on in that area before you unstrap off the rack. The rails can be in spec, but the upper structures can still be out. You need to hang whatever goes on in that area and do additional pulls so the attaching parts will line up side to side, forward back, diagonal etc. In your case: fenders, hood, grille, bumper, valance, check fender to door fit, fender to cowl. Lots of extra tweaking needs to happen after the main frame pulls.
