RESTOMOD SEATS...WHAT DO YOU HAVE?

Procar Elite Lumbar seats... use them for street and road racing, and love them. Five point harness fits between the headrest supports

So I’m a big guy, 6’5 290 and I’ve been looking for the right seat. It looks like I’ve narrowed it down to hue procar elite lumbar which has the most width. Nice to see them in a car 65roadracer..they keep you nice and center?

We had to do the universal brackets because they don't make a bracket kit for this car. We placed the seats on blocks first and then tack welded the brackets. They keep me firm in the seats around town, the harness does its job at 110+ in the turns!

I really like the seats, I opted for this one because I race it twice a year, but drive it a few times a month (or more) and they are comfortable. I'm going to have them reupholstered with the rest of my interior soon.

Yours look like an older version...the ones I see know have a vynil covering or you can get them in leather which is pretty pricey.

I've got Corbeau seats in two of my cars. GTS 2 in black leather and suede in my charger and Sport seats in black leather in my duster. Both are very comfortable.

I just picked up these seats for my 68 Charger. They are sweet! Came out of a 2007 Charger R/T.

Take a look at the mid 90's BMW convertible seats if you have a pre 65 and want a three point on the ez. Leather , heated , so many adjustments...Be sure to get the loom for the seat.

Any guesses? I got these seats - they are manual, fold forward, have a loop for a 3 point belt, and were priced right... $200 shipped from Michigan to CA.

I used ProCar/Scat 1100 Elite seats in my RR
a few years back along with their seat mounts

I went with the 1100's because they were a bit lower profile {2.5" lower}
more head room, don't sit anywhere near as high as others
I also liked the adj. headrests & seatbacks & sliders on the base

Got from Jegs IIRC about 7 years or so ago $750 for everything

Drivers side base, were like $79 each

Bud those are what I think I’m going to go with for my RR too. So you are not to close to the headliner then?

Exactly

My second choice was
the ProCar/Scat 1000 Rally's are a 2" {2.5" actual} thicker at the base
but they do look more era correct as far as the stitching & vertical lines

I wasn't worried about that stuff,
I wanted black & a lower profile for head room

I have a tall torso, I'm 6'2' or was :poke:
I don't like sitting really high either

For a comparison
here's the Rally 1000 dimensions & weight {actually 2#'s lighter}

IMO either would be a great choice

Some thing out of a Chevy?

That's what I was thinking. The look a lot like the 08 Mailbu seats I picked up for my 08 Saturn but with drivers power. Changed from the lt grey to the black leather/suede and heated seats to boot. :thumbsup:

Yea I’m 6’5 and close to three bills, I needs the head room and hip width! I think the back bolsters would be to big for me with the ralley seat, I do like that one too. Lol, you don’t sit on the bolsters on the seat bottom at all do you?

I'm not a little guy either I'm 250
& to answer your question No not really
,
not that I notice anyway,
the Elite's bolsters on bottom & sides
"are not so pronounced/big" as the Rally seats
but they still help to keep you planted,
Elites are easier to slide in over, getting in too
but;
still better planting/keeping the butt in place,
than an OE style seat

I had the Rally's 1000 in my old Baja Bug,
more than a decade or more ago {long story}
{ProCar/Scat is big in the VW world, that's how I learned/heard of them 1st}
they were pretty comfy still, just too tall of a base for me...
I had to sit them literally on the floor with little 90* tabs,
with them/almost in the back seat, would have been,
with no fwrd & rear/seat adjt.s
They showed a lot of wear on the lower bolsters
getting in & out too...
Albeit it was after a couple years of daily use...

. Works out pretty good with the "S" for Satellite already monogramed on them...

I could not use those seats in my 70 GTX...too tall. The headrest hit the roof BEFORE the liner was in place and that was with the seat sitting on the bare floor pan, no brackets in place. You might want to look closer at that. They were also too wide when using the console from the 07 Charger. I ended up with Corbeau buckets.

Looks nice!

I bought some front seats from a 2013 Chrysler 200 convertible. Somewhat similar to your seats but integrated 3 point belts. Also have flip forward feature and power up/down/front/back.

I'm going to-

-strip out anything unneeded. (airbag and wiring, original brackets on sliders)

-make new mounting brackets

-anchor the rearmost part of the sliders through the subframe connector as I don't trust only the floor to hold the seat in place with the built in seat belts.

-remove chrysler 200 head rests and install 69 charger head rests

-reupholster in dark blue 69 Charger color/pattern and dye plastic parts blue.

-replace seat belts with blue belts
