Looking for thoughts from the "old guys"..I was in a tow truck off&on during this crap. Ran into a van on a hill during the height of it at about 15mph. Saw a body fall sideways, they were using the van to push against another car that couldn't get up the hill. Broken pelvis, anyway I got to a fire station and they said no Highway Patrol will come out unless somebody died(he didn't). CB radio quit working from all the snow blowing across highway. Tire tracks were like 10-12" deep, you had to jerk the wheel to make a turn or you just slide right back into the track. Tow truck was parked outside & waited 20-30secs before the oil press. even started moving on gauge!

I was snowed in, Rhode Island
Buffalo NY loaned RI D.O.T Buffalo NY's HEAVY Duty snow removal equipment and it was transported to RI in C-141s and C-5s
Were had no ability to drive for at least a week!
Ha Ha
Global Warming

I imagine Buffalo had some H.D. stuff! That is no place to go in the winter, Niagara Falls or not!

Worked in Willoughby at the time on Hamman pkwy. Took me 8 hrs to get home 152nd and euclid ave. Maybe 35 miles

Been pretty mild the past few winters......but man when it does snow, we get it pretty good off the lake. Especially in the southern tier below the city in ski country. Thats what this guy is for!

Local paper posted this photo the other day talking about the anniversary of the Blizzard of '77......'68 Charger in the snow was awesome! How ironic to see my favorite car buried in the snow back in the day.

That guy ought to be crucified for leaving the Charger sit out in the Buffalo weather in the winter. From what I can see of it looks like a nice cat.....

Daily driver, lol!!!That's why 'they' don't last as long as compared to out west.

Ok, my mind is telling me we had a blackout in the summer of 77, and the blizzard was like February 78 ? Here in the NY/NJ area. I had just received a 8mm movie camera, and filmed myself and my dog out in the snow; with zero traffic because of the amount of snow, it was like the arctic.

We’ve had plenty of those storms while growing up in Minnesota. Had more than a few when I lived in Colorado too. It’s actually pretty cool when they happen. Inconvenient but cool

That's why I said 77-78,lol.Couldn't quite get the brain pan working.

I was 10 years old living on back roads in the sticks, we were out of school for over 2 weeks, fire dept. came around on snowmobiles house to house, after about 10 days to see if anyone needed anything. couldn't get out our front door if was drifted to about a foot from the top. we were in absolute heaven, had snow forts in the side of drifts big as a house. never forget it.

Blizzard of '78 in Massachusetts. Snow drifts so high against the front of the two story house the we had to shovel the snow into the garage to cut a shoulder-wide path out of the house. Luckily the garage was empty because the auto orange '74 Plymouth Satellite with white half top was in the driveway.

In Wisconsin I remember seeing a picture of a local Police Dept. new 1977 Lemans. It was parked in a tunnel of snow that was carved out by a big Oshkosh V-nose snow plow. You know when it was bad when they used the six wheel drive and chains on all wheels. Someday I want to see if I can get a copy of that photo from that retired Officer.

I remember shoveling the snow drifts off our drive. Taking off 6"- 8" layers at a time. Working my way down to the pavement. And ice skating on the side walks.

I lived about two miles from the gas station that I was working at. Walked to the station, shoveled a path to the office door then started to open one side of the pumps. We serviced the cabs, there were a couple running and needed gas. Pick up a few customers that day. Gave me something to do. I still think 1966 was the worst.

Nothing could be farther from the truth. For one thing Niagara Falls almost never see heavy snow so come see the falls in the winter. If it does snow we know what to do with it. Business as usual.

But! The snow belts the can get heavy lake effect snow are usually 10 mile or so wide path just south of Buffalo leaving Buffalo snowless in some cases

Hes a pic from my house a couple of years ago, three miles south of the Buffalo city line. Seven feet over a week and nothing in the city.
