Workin on the Dart "The thread"

Not sure yet, still gathering parts. A buddy of mine has a few sheet metal cross rams that are obsolete for super stock. Said I could try one out. It's still gonna be a street car so I gotta be careful not to go overboard although it's pretty easy.

Most of the old S/S intakes are for decks that have been milled a mile. The one I have, was already redone to a standard deck height. The guy had a ton in it[$$]. Bob's getting ready to CNC another set of hemi-heads[Chrysler] for me. I live about 10 minutes from the shop.......and sure miss Jeff.

Got a small block k member. Cut the mounts off and am doing some reinforcement work. Still welding on it.

Just went through this whole thread for the first time. Patience is a virtue that doesn’t come easy to me, so I commend you on keeping your momentum. Keep inching along and keeping us posted.

What rocker stands and arms are you running?

Those are some of Dean Nicopolis’s old super stock parts. They were made by BMS. I had to buy blanks and custom make the valve lengths in the iron heads to get the right geometry. I’ll probably just keep those heads and rockers together. Thinking stage v’s for the Edelbrocks.

I was thinking the stands you have were stage v. I don’t recognize the rockers though. Ya the stage v stuff looks really nice. Price wise seams fairly reasonable. Well reasonable as Hemi’s go lol.

Doing a little mock up, may go to tti headers so I wanted to see how the master cylinder clearance looked if I change the engine positioning slightly.

Plenty of room

11 lbs of stuff, stuffed in a 9 lb package

Well I’m going to assume their will be no more 4 speed in the dart lol. 4 speed and that big of an arm massive torque equals massively exspensive carnage lol

Ok I’ve been distracted for way too long. Time to get busy.

Motor plate brackets are tacked, I’ll weld them up while the kframe is out.

My epoxy was just beginning to come loose. Decided I “shouldn’t” need it anyway so broke all that out and cleaned it up. It was still stuck better than I though. Cleaned up all my gasket sufrfaces. Just need to bolt up the caps and have the new pistons fit. I only went 0.005 because the bores were still real nice. Thank you air cleaners!

Looking good!
Progress...

I'd cut that K frame so the oil pan can come off. You will thank me later.
