My Pa (GrandPa) died last year and dementia was a big part of it. I looked at that first pic of Mr Conway in that article and it reminded me of Pa's eyes towards the end.

Mother and Grandmother had it and most of my mother’s family. Terrible diesase.They all lived to be in their 80’s and 90’s . Give me a good quick heart attack.

Very sad to see someone with serous dementia. Had an uncle with it and it was like he was staring off into space all the time and frightened. Hope Tim goes quickly....

Not possibly, definitely. Poor Harvey, trying to hold it together, and Tim trying to kill him.
Harvey knew the gist of the routine but Tim ad-libbed so well. Harvey didn't know about the fly sound, Tim arranged that with the sound man, and continued to break Harvey up. Harvey so clearly losing it for real is what makes it a classic .

There is no "battle" with dementia, Alzheimer's disease being the worst form of it. It ultimately wins every time. The issue is with how the family deals with it. In our family, we take care of our own and don't send them "down the river" to some nursing home. My family took care of my Dad in his home for the 11 years he had Alzheimer's before it claimed him last year. My wife and I are currently caring for her Mom who has Alzheimer's whom we moved into our home last month. To top it off, my Mom has Parkinson's disease and is being cared for in her home by my brother. In my opinion, it is a terrible but essential burden for the children of parents who end up going down that path in their closing years. And, I might add, it opens up an entirely new perspective on what the end of life means.
