my 70 barn find

Yes! My dad worked as a lineman and was working extra to pay for the car so my step mom has been arranging finances to figure out what is next.
I think my dads friend is ready to start working on it as well. It has been an emotional roller coaster for sure!! But with all of that I think we are ready to start painting. I know my dad had bought a ton of parts (the whole attic of the garage had new and old parts, all organized) I can’t wait to see it and hopefully stop over and get some pictures. Then the real fun will begin.
We are looking to start a car show in memory of my dad too! It is all just going to take some time.

Thanks for the update Karra, best wishes on the project.

Got quarters welded in, he's got to add a little to the back side of the trunk to get the gaps all perfect. Getting the doors all prepped and measured for the kingdigit door handles. We put the roof skin on just to see how close it's gonna be, looks like it's gonna fit real nice. We got the air grabber all figured out, can't wait to show that when he starts on it. I'm loving it so far. My buddy went to school for water Bourne ppg paint. He is all certified, showed me his new mixing center. Last pic is a 1978 trans am black with water Bourne paint. Freaking awesome. View attachment 405781 View attachment 405782

He most certainly would, that looks terrific! Hope you bring it to the Nats when it's done, he and I always planned on meeting up again when it was finished. He'd be pretty proud seeing you pick up where he left off, my hats off to you.
We plan on doing car shows galore when it’s done. It will bring back memories for sure. He used to drag me to car shows all the time when I was little.

We have so many plans for this car! Hoping to do them all!

YOU didn't just tell his daughter that . . . did you ? ! ? ! ? ! ? LOL

Car looks fantastic! It is awesome to see a project like this turn the corner and start coming back together.

Yes, your dad would be very proud. Karra: you are a class act and this car will draw a crowd - not just for the car but also because of the story.

He posted it not me... I'm just trying to discourage such wrecklessness bahaha.
LOL! I remember doing 90 on the interstate when I was about 18 wondering why I was passing everyone. He looked over and was like um do you know your doing 90?! Haha. Just taking after him! LOL
You have to see how fast a car will go at least once

LMAO - the apple didn't fall too far from the tree . . . Love it !

Kara - really think you need to change your user name to USARR-jr . . . As a tribute to your dad ( and I think it fits ! )

Not with the evil scowl you don't, that thing will likely go well north of 160mph.. things get very light and sketchy at those speeds lol. Is it still getting supercharged or do I dare ask?

I still think super charged is in the plan. Lol. We are just so excited to see the paint color on! This is what he was waiting for.
