Any harwood experts out there (pic)

This floor is in a historical 1860 home. Does anyone know the type of wood by looking at the pic. It does have the old square nails in many areas throughout the floor so I was additionally wondering how old it could be.

Square or rectangular? My guess would be rectangular as square nails were earlier than your stated year.

Square were usually hand made, rectangular became the norm through the 1800's, and round nails took their place around the 1900's.

Not sure on the wood, pine maybe?

Looks like yellow pine to me, and being you are in Tennessee it is/was a pretty common wood used in houses.

Yes they are rectangle. I have always called them square.....just seemed a more commonly used reference....but you are correct.
