What Do You Like Better, The Superbird Or Daytona?

Which Is Best?

Opinions are useless. There's only one scientific way to answer the question.Give me one of each model. Let me drive both for awhile, say 20 years or so. Then I can give a valid viewpoint.
I am a licensed forensic engineer and so I will take one for the team and volunteer to perform the drive testing for this 20 year comparison. Gratis!

I always called them Daytona Charger. am I wrong is it not a charger? was Daytona a charger option or sold as a different car?Does the owners manual say Charger or Daytona?

I liked the larger fins and steeper rake to the Superbird tail, and the cleaner nose without the center grill.

BB Bella. It's a Charger Daytona or Daytona Charger. Technically, the Daytona is just a Charger with a nose cone and wing. Same with the Superbird, just a Roadrunner with a nose cone and wing. Besides the nose cones and wings, I believe there's something else that makes them different other than being a regular Charger or Roadrunner. Just don't remember what though.

Roadrunner used 70 Coronet fenders and Coronet hood with modified front extension and rear window plug and stainless A pillar moldings.

Daytona, fenders and hood were 70 Charger design, stainless a pillar moldings and modified rear window

62Max. Am I right about them being the same as the regular Daytona and Roadrunner?

Daytona was built on the Charger R/T platform and the bird on the RM 23 Roadrunner 2 door hardtop.

Modified my earlier post.

The bird had better a color selection.

Since this is the Daytona/Superbird Forum page, I figured I'd create a tread. I'd like to know what car you like over the other and what's better/best out of the two. In my personal opinion, I really cannot decide. I really love both, but if I had to choose, I would say the Superbird. (Sorry I'm a Plymouth guy) I'd like to hear from you. Post comments, opinions, etc.
I voted Superbird since I figured the rarer Daytona would get the vote. I think the Bird is a more complete and well thought out version of the “rushed to production” Daytona.

Cool history but neither, I'd rather have a RR or Charger minus the nose and wing. Goofy looking cars unless their in Nascar form, then they look really cool. Wings and aerodynamic noses just don't look right at factory ride height to me.

Having owned 3 Daytonas, I have to agree that they look really, really cool in race trim, but not as good in street trim.

I love them both. Just could never afford one. I prefer the Daytona. I like the different body to wing/stripe combos available. The birds all look the same in the few colors. I was never a big fan of the big Plymouth on the quarters either.

Have had my Superbird for 31 years. Remember seeing the Daytona new at the Dodge Dealer with my Father. Went gaga over it and my Father asked what the hect is wrong with you? Love them both but still love my bird the best

I love them both and wanted either one a long time ago, but the '69 Charger 500 is my overall favorite...for the street. I don't have one of those either. :(
