Road Trip Gulf Coast to NorCal

Point to something on the road and Linda looks at my finger.
A well known comedian said something similar in a joke about teaching his dog to retrieve...
He would throw the item to be retrieved, point at it, and the dog would look at his finger...

40 west, Albuquerque we saw a huge traffic jam on the adjacent frontage road that rivaled the CtC registration. A pumpkin patch. Also, 40 has thousands of trucks reflecting the booming economy. Most going 75-80 w/75 posted. Construction in Amarillo right now with one we lane closed. Eating is the big challenge. Me,”order anything you want and I’ll split it with you. I pick something, she says “I can’t eat that! Not the $$$, trying not to waist food.

Must drive: Hwy 3, NM. LV, south to highway 66. Over 6 thousand feet, twisty and some straight romps too.
Damn last time I drove that was in an early 90s Thunderbird, and it was snowing!

If you have a chance, stop by the petrified forest and painted desert. There is an old Rte 66 hotel along the route overlooking the canyon...

I'm thinking with the huge altitude swings that your EFI system is really coming in handy?

Just pulled into the Hampton, Flagstaff. Nice. $96 with all the added crap. Linda said the tee pees smelled like Lysol.

23 degrees here overnight. 11% humidity now.

Navajo guy selling stuff at the painted desert. Never got off his ******* phone.
Phones are a pia. Grown men, fellow travelers standing in the middle of doorways ******* with their phones. Get a grip man.

Petrified Forest. Linda goes in, talks to Ranger Butch. She comes out. I asked “how long is the loop, how many miles? She didn’t ask. She says “are you hungry. I say no. She says, “well I am, and I’m gonna eat now. It’s 45 minutes with no stops and 28 miles. So I figure 2 hours tops. Trying to plan lodging, fuel, daylight etc.
