1967 Coronet window repair write up

[67 Coronet Conv]

hello

Just purchased a 1967 Coronet Conv and the windows need some work as they are difficult to roll up or down. Looking for a some sort of repair write up on replacing all the rollers/etc... that someone has published, if anyone knows of any please post a link. If there isn’t, I was thinking of doing on myself. I purchased the regulator repair kits from classic industries and plan on attempting to tackle this project this weekend.

On my 66, the driver's window got to where it would hardly move but after cleaning and then lubing the gear box, it worked fine afterwards. Other than that, can't offer anything else....and welcome to the site!

Been many years ago.....iirc, rinsed it good using mineral spirits and then sprayed some light oil into the shaft bushing then greased the rack.

I used NAPA Silglide (or something similar) on my 65 Coronet 4 Dr. with very good results. I pulled all 4 regulators out one at a time and soaked them in my solvent tank, then cleaned them off, dried and lubed, and reinstalled. The rollers had leather washers on them! And I thought the only leather in a Mopar was the starter brake washer.

Get a FSM, rollers are available online.
The regulators a pretty easy to remove.
You didnt say which windows are most difficult, but the doors have several adjustments, I would advise replacing the channel runs while you have it apart. Those have a lot to do with the action. When I did mine the rear windows were the biggest pain to align and adjust.
I used WD40 white lithium on all of my guides and rollersafter a good solvent cleaning and the work nicely now.
One other thing I found out during the process was I thought I had everything working smoothly and aligning... before... I installed my new wipes and fuzzies...well I ended up having to make some small adjustments afterwards but it's all good now.

Pop the door panels off and take some time inspecting he mechanisms in there. Get a feel for what is worn, and what needs grease. Help the window up by hand and when lowering, looks for wobbles and hitches in the movement. Lots of the issues with window glass may be resolved with just a few adjustments. There are tons of vids out there, but this fellow's it probably the best one for regulators I've run across.

66/67 23 body rear windows are notorious for binding.

They have a very convoluted motion- down, then back, then angle, then down, then back, etc...

Not sure about 27 convertible body.

I use white lithium grease IIRC that's what the factory used.

It does tend to cake up over time, though.

One trick I use is to replace the dinky, short rear handles with a set of long front handles.

Waaay better leverage.

The white grease has improved since 1967 as well...look for non caking non hardening grease..

along with the OP's request, is there one for the power windows? Specifically how the motors are mounted on the regulators?

So i lubed all my windows and they work 100x times better except the passenger window, looks like the clips that hold the front window in were broken. So I pulled the window out and cant seem to find the clips or the weatherstripping (plastic looking film) does anyone know if this is a updated replacement for this?
