I’m gonna say the 226 is the scheduled build date. Which would be Feb. 26th 1969

Correction to the 1969 instead of 1968 as listed below.

February 26th 1969.
Car is a 69 Coronet 500 2 door hardtop 318/904 console black bucket seats. Y4 gold with a black vinyl top.

The day after mine and 671 cars ! But take note, my engine wasn't built until Feb 28th, so it was a "scheduled" build date.. not actual.

Both our cars "built for Canada" BTW.. that's designated by the "B" in front of your order number B01108. USA cars have a 0 there.

I don't mean to hijack, but.... simple question. Other than the first four places on the bottom row, that designate brand and trim level, are the rest of the codes the same for plymouth and dodge, assuming the same assay plant? Could I use plymouth info to decode his dodge, and be right?

I assume you have a 1968 model, as the fender tag has the SON and does not have the complete VIN on it. so 2/26 of 1968 was the projected build date.

Top right 9A tells us year and plant, 2 digit paint and vinyl top codes are 69 only.

This is not a 1968 fender tag, they had a completely different layout.

It is a '69 Lynch Road tag. Take the WP23 from the bottom left and add to the 9A... at the top right and there's your VIN

This site has proven, at least for me, to be an invaluable tool in the decoding and referencing of our rides. First link is the site itself, second will help you decode the Vin and Fender tags, and the third is if you want to pay to have it done. In addition, you can reference part numbers when looking for the correct coded part for your car. I cannot live without it along with my complete parts manual for the 66 model year and the Mitchell estimatics sheets that list the part numbers as well. One can never have enough reference material with these older cars. Hope this helps ya out...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

all my 69 tags (4) have the vin on the bottom right of the tag. did not ever see one at the top.

And cars were not built in vin order.

this is a Lynch Road tag, VIN code A, they are oddball and on their own.

And the 925 says 383 four barrel, manual trans, heater, 335 hp, painted orange.
I got that, but every one I own has the complete VIN on the tag just like the dash, as well as the engine and trans code. I only mentioned it as I have not seen a tag without the complete vin on a 69.
