The shutter directives bring back memories when many places were closed on Sundays and when I worked 2nd shift. When I worked 2nd shift for a few summers I'd get out at midnight and take a cruise thru town to find few if any around. Nothing was open. It was a bit depressing as I had my car bud's where we would cruise around our town together and stop to shoot da chit. Well, they were tucked in by then having 1st shift jobs. When I do go out for errands and do work a couple days a week, it reminds me of some old Twilight Zone episodes. My level of ambition has been sucked down despite a ton of projects that I have at home. Might be just one effect of the shutdown I've yet to acclimate myself to. Reckon this ordeal is playing on many folk's minds in various ways.

Everything in moderation!!! When this started I looked so forward to being at home and getting projects done!!! The first week I was killing it!!!! Tons done on the super bee, porch swings made for my wife, projects with the kids. Lately, 3 weeks later, I’m having trouble staying motivated. Lots still to do but mentally finding it hard to get started. Working out everyday so that’s good. Thinking about going back to work next week.

I am the same way. I work 1 week and off 3 while this is going on. I cant get motivated. Partly cause you cant go get parts, paint etc. I am a sewage pump mechanic so if something breaks we are in a bad situation.

I am trying not to run out of money. Last pay day was three weeks ago. Got one more week to go. I have been working on small stuff that have needed fixing.
If the blasted wind would quite blowing between rain showers I still have roof to work on.

It gets freaking old pretty freaking fast, actually.
You just have to have multiple hobbies you can do when you can't do anymore house stuff or working on the car. Today me and my wife were shooting, I have the jeep the motorcycles can go kayaking down the river I will find something to do

I was working 5 days a week, 3rd shift 12 hours a day. I am a locomotive Engineer hauling freight on the Boston and Albany AKA the B&A . Formally owned by Conrail , I can not put the name of my company on the web , we are one of the top 4 class one railroads in the USA . They cut 3 jobs last week which caused me to go on call 6 days a week 24 hours a day in a row. The phone rings I have 2 hours to report to 1 of the 4 terminals I cover. and have to pass a breathalyzer have to blow 0.00 . so I cant even have a beer. no that's sad, I love my GI JOE MARTINIs. Just Thank full to still be working. I carry federal papers to get thru road blocks in state of emergency. My wife works for a major hospital 300 employees have the virus. some good news they are testing a new drug on the employees. they cant test on patients. I did get some time on the project car today. I have not ben motivated like usually am. I do have a 2015 shaker challenger 6 speed, I started driving every day when this all hit hard march 15th. most of the time its just me and all the tractor trailer trucks. I am first out for call rite now til Thursday nite at midnight. hoping I get called in the early am. I have ben ordering lots of parts year one just sent me 30% off so I cant stop now.

I’ve been working this entire time.
It’s a bit strange motoring through areas that are normally congested at 40MPH.
Twilight zone stuff.

I'm essential. But am able to work 4 days a week from home in the IT support world. (Security requires some staff onsite. No more than two at a time.) I found that I actually work a little more hours. (Some due to that I'm not quite as productive at home due to technical issues.) But not all. It turns out I have nothing better to do. Still too cold here in Minnesota for any car stuff. So right now? 2020 is a bust?

I have been off work for three weeks now and was issued a redundancy notice yesterday. So that kinda sucks, but I am not too worried about finding another job, the problem is that you can't exactly go job hunting right now. I have some savings, so will be OK for a while, but of course this type of thing does mess with your state of mind.

Business as usual. We switched to virtual office, however a fair amount of the time I need to be in the lab. We carry a letter from the Feds in case someone should ask. It's dead quiet around here, like a big blizzard only without the snow.

I finished my first emergency repair today. Was nice to be out and about but also ok to be back home. Its just so different.

Getting old. Cheap as I am, would like to sit in a Pub and have a Draft

Doing nothing is hard work. You never know when you're finished.

Ah, the simple pleasure of ordering a cold beer. Something about it makes the beer more enjoyable.

Hobbies cost money - although I can get behind the shooting part, which I do sometimes when I feel the ammo
stash needs a little rotatin'. :)

Yeah, it really is.
I went through downtown Knoxville last week right in the middle of the day and it was SPOOKY.
Typically jam-packed with people driving crazy, instead it was like it was 2am with sunlight.
Looked like a bad apocalypse movie.

LOL! This IS an interesting perspective on how hard it is to do nothing I never thought about!

C'mon get motivated, largest private-owned hardware store in the USA is still open(Hartville Hardware). 200 body limit at any one time. Lots of John Deere's still on pallets!
