Another Graveyard Cars Rant

So the car was "Restored" by GYC but then taken to another shop to have things corrected?

I would also like to hear more about this?
Is this one of the QC issues they say has plagued some of the cars?

This isn't the first story like this, I have read several where GYC did the car and it had to be taken elsewhere to get fixed correctly. They are clowns pure and simple.

Thanks for the heads up!!

The spies need to inform the "Ice man" that, the "ICE CAPADES" are what most people complain about.
IF any GYC spies are currently reading this, tell Mark he should hire some of us, the more skilled workers he has the more cars can be put out the door.
He has to strike while the iron is hot, because this GYC kick, might not last forever.
Look at Orange County Choppers, from small shop to huge hit,(and huge expansion) to bankruptcy. I wish him the best, because any Mopar show is good for the hobby.

If Mark is "the dream maker" as he claims, then hire me, its my dream. He has nothing to loose, as he can fire me, and then make fun of me.

Wise man once said "love what you do, you never work a day in your life"
If you want to work for an *** by all means apply yourself. Way too many of those type of jobs available.

It would not be the first time I worked for an ***, but instead of working all day for an *** on heavy equipment, I would love to work on classic Mopar cars all day.
I think I could look past a lot of BS, for that job.
I have started my own small shop Mostly Mopars here in NY.
And I have been getting work, just not as much as I would like.
Also I have to take on some non Mopar cars to keep the lights on, granted they still classic cars(1965 Nova, 1969 Ford Galaxy Convertible, and a Pontiac)
One thing I quickly found out, when I started my shop, is I love the work, its getting the work, doing social media, and all the other stuff that goes along with sailing your own ship, that I am not so in love with.

Awesome good for you! Hopefully the work will pick up for you. I would think its hard to be a dedicated Mopar repair shop anywhere in the US but especially non metro areas. What I have learned is that 99% of the work is all the same across mfgers. There are nuances between mfg but the designs are really similar as well as the mfg approaches. I enjoy this work as well. Its very therapeutic however when one makes it a job all that other stuff and the stress does diminish the enjoyment aspect.

Did anyone catch Mark talking about the Scatpack sticker, how the new one perfectly matched the original. You could see that the blue on the new sticker was way lighter than the original. He's colorblind, so there's an excuse, but someone should have told him. I guess I'll throw my 2 cents in. I hate the show. That animation is just stupid. No show needs the producers in front of the camera. I don't watch a car show to hear what some producer thinks.

YES I TOTALY CAUGHT THAT!!!!! Good call!!! funny stuff
I just ordered a Chrysler air temp (a/c) sticker for my car, the size and colors were correct, but the new one has a half inch clear border on it the original did not, it sticks out like sore thumb to me, so now I got to look for new sticker or modify one.

My wife and I were watching that episode today and she said "The blues are way different!" I told her that he is colorblind. She said the same about how someone could've told him.

I guess its not just their cars that have had quality control issues, LOL

i tried watching this show a few times.
that guy is so obnoxious hes hard to watch.
direct quote from season 1,ep 1.
" i uplift people....i lift them up and make them think anythings possible "
this can be translated several diff ways.....but the way he treats people is anything But uplifting, imo.

plus, seeing him taking parts off of a customers car to use on a different car and saying,
ill replace that later,is a cardinal Sin to me.
if i was the owner of that car,id be pissed right off and want my car And parts back immediately.

i scoped out Alyssas fb page out....
seems like she hasnt posted anything since march.....?
might be even she has seen how toxic he is....?

....not a car show. It's a drama show. Like American chopper.

gotta' agree
that animation, stupid storyline crap
is even more lame,
then Mark or his lame name calling, jokes, movies references
or lousy dancing crap, normally is

just stick to the cars & details

much less BS & dancing or animations the better
I know that falls on deaf ears,
he doesn't give a rats *** what any of US think

BUT;
it's his show, to ruin as he pleases

Not sure the MoPar crowd associates with that **** at all

I get the comedy aspect, sort of to keep the viewer
maybe appeal to the none car crowd, not the MoPar crowd
or most people that know better, than what he preaches/spouts off
but a little of that lame crap, bad dancing, bad jokes or lame animation now
goes a long way
Mark's just not good at it, but thinks he's funny or he's good at it
way to much face time directly into the cameras, phony BS

constructive criticism hasn't worked & it isn't working
truth doesn't work either
seems neither the network or Mark cares
what a majority or maybe even a minority all think

Just shut up & work on the cars
that's the only reason most of US even watch at all !!
I know if not for the cars, there's no-way in hell, I'd ever watch
even with a DVR & ffwd thru all his BS, Markisms

:soapbox:

in my opinion, he sort of represents us Mopar people to the viewing audience and the world. people tune in because they are interested in what all the hype is about and really don't know much about the Mopar world.
THEN they get to see this embarrassment of a representative. the clown show.
instead of helping people understand what makes these cars so special , he's running around like a cartoon character.
it's embarrassing to know that this guy is out there making every Mopar owner/ lover/enthusiast look like a clown instead of spending the short alloted time slot explaining what separates us from the rest.

A friend of mine who works in a nearby highend restoration shop, told me that they fixed paint issues and problems with a Hemi engine in one of GYCs cars.

II enjoy a car show that actually teaches me some how to, I don't need drama spewed by some Hollywood knock off nitwit. Maybe I am too critical!?? Doubt it.

When you log into the Motor Trend Steaming app they put pictures of new episodes at the top of the page. Two weeks ago they included the newest GYC show. That episode was the first of the 70 RR fake deadline show. Since then, MT has not posted any new GYC episodes at the top and have substituted Roadkill series best of reruns. That episode of GYC with the RR was the worst show of any kind that I have seen. Apparently, many others agreed.

The recipe for success for car shows is out there. Make the show about the cars. Make sure the hosts are likeable and compelling to watch. Case in point, Roadkill garage, Full Custom Garage, and Junkyard Gold hit these points. I would much rather listen to Steve's Magnante and Dulcich.
