Hi Durandal25, I think it's one of the later 383's. The only number I've seen so far is G383 11 232 I believe the G means it's a '71? Read somewhere that the 71's were not so hot. So, yes, needs a rebuild to spice it up somewhat!

I'd never heard that.....but, after looking never found any detail on that. The 383 is one of the best, and most reliable motors ever built. I've had several....all of them treated me right.

I agree. I've read loads of good things about the 383. Gonna have to do a lot of research to figure out what the best budget route will be.

Getting parts to Sweden is not a problem, exchange rate is worse swedish crown has sunk so a dollar these days are 9 crowns just a couple of years agos it was around 6.

I have a mate in Florida who ships to SA regularly, but often the shipping costs as much as the parts. Our exchange rate is around 17:1
