I removed the fuel fill aluminum bucket and the sheet metal oval tube that hides the fill and vent pipe on the 67 Coronet. There was a packing of sorts that sealed the oval sheet metal piece as it passes thru the trunk floor. Does anyone make this packing?

Call detroit ,If you have the junk oe part maybe they could make you one? just a thought

so that's the original pn with the star, shows 25 ft roll by 1/4 inch od?

No... The item with the star is a vent hose.... Basically the parts manual gives you the Chrysler Pt # for a roll of 1/4" hose....

I was also thinking it was a "dum-dum" kind of sealant. You can buy it in a roll at most hardware stores. Commonly used by home DIYer's for plumbing, windows, etc.

The body man used the ribbon, and also seam sealer like Chrysler used in the floors etc. ANY body man over 40 would know about this I would think. I only go by my own experiences and what I have gleaned from other.

I was thinking 3M strip caulk packed in the channel also. The remnants of the original seal actually had string inside of it, almost reminded me of a seal that old school plumbers used when they joined/packed cast pipes together.
