Stop in for a drink.

Lately I tried Samuel Grant. Not expensive, about $22 for 1.5 liter.
Not bad on ice, sittin' on the side porch.

Wow this is crazy stuff. I am sipping it out of a shot glass. It has a mild ethanol taste right up front followed by a sweet creamy mouth feel, a gentle warming mid palate, and a mild vanilla after taste. It is made with wheat which makes a pleasant difference. It isn't thin and drying like most vodkas. Fun stuff and it goes real good with Sunny D. LOL
FYI:
Harlan Wheatley is the Master distiller at Buffalo Trace.

I rather enjoy the "burn" after a sip; problem is, it stays with me for a good while. Too long of a while. Acid bath all around. :(

I have it too. It's an I-Talian thing. LOL
Too much gravy on Sunday. And leftover on Monday. Oh yeah, every Wednesday too.

"The Kentucky Hug" is what they call it. Too bad the acid reflux kicks in. Every once in a while I will swallow wrong and my throat is shot till the next day. It's usually with barrel strength stuff. 120-135 proof. :BangHead::BangHead:

People with more money than brains. Nothing could be that good!!

Buddy Ted came back from a trip to Georgia. He stopped a few places on the way home, toured some distilleries and shopped at some liquor stores. Some nice ones here! The Old Pepper was top of the heap for sure. A single barrel that I would buy if I could find one. Especially from the same barrel. It's the search that's the most fun. Well and the tasting before and after!

my daily after-work drink was originally
Just straight JD chase it with a Boston Lager
or Jim Beam on the rocks
I prefer Nobb Creek or Makers Mark, but it will do in a pinch
nothing too exotic

Whiskey Some days you just need a Damn Drink.jpg

cheap vodka & Welches grape juice
is ok sometimes too, like an old Nehi

a lil' Grey Goose & grapefruit juice on hot summer days
goes down nice too

I no longer even keep booze in the house (because of my dad)
I don't piss a lot of cash away on designer boozes anymore
I use to buy or try something different often
It's remarkable how much I'm not spending of late too
hundreds of dollars saved, monthly
that I never really cared about before

Now I can spend on something more productive, more useful
usually my dog, ammo's or the car/trucks, boat, trailer etc.

We rarely spend more than $50 on a bottle. Most of my best are in the $30 range. My $32 Rittenhouse is as much fun as a $150 bottle of Whistle Pig. (good thing that was a gift)
