According to doug demuro you're soon to be dead if you daily drive an older car

I must have offended you some how, thats not my intent , I'm in collision repair and I lot of repeat customers over and over having the same type of accident , some people can't learn from their mistakes and thats more chance for us to get caught up in theirs

I'm not offended, that's not a car problem, that's a problem with our justice system. That needs to be addressed, no doubt.

Not true unfortuanately....in fact being made of thick metal and not crumpling in the "right" places makes it worse.

that’s true, but when I drive anything classic, I’ve never been over 55 in any of them, and I seldom if ever go on the freeway, where 80mph is the new 55. I totally get the new car safety features, but I also concur that it makes you disregard common sense, and allows you to take risks you would never do in an older car. I know, I do it all the time.

I was just in an accident on Saturday, a guys trailer came off his truck, came into my lane, and chased me into the ditch before it hit the rear of my truck. I was in my ‘12 Ram, if I was in an older vehicle, I think the damage would’ve been much less than the tinfoil my ‘12 is made of!
