I watch most of AutotopiaLA videos since im also interested in custom cars.

Today they uploaded this video

The guy was already on the show a while back with another car

This guy's taste is really close to mine!

- Pretty much stock look
- Oldschool Drivetrain
- High Horsepower
- Upgraded Suspension, Steering & Brakes

I would probably build the drivetrain a bit different since i would be going to take the car on the autobahn and i would go for
even more of a stock look (wheels, seats in camaro) but overall these cars are really nice!

That's why i thought i have to share them with you guys :)

Pretty cool buuuut chevy, Ford .... everyone wants a mopar!!!

Real nice, much as I'm a mopar guy, I've had a few other rides in the day and have a lot of attraction to them. The big 3 all had some awesome cars.

That’s the type of builds I like, some modern handling with a stock exterior.

Once again, I'm impressed with the proper use of the apostrophe in the title.

The "Kern effect" must be taking hold.

That's true. I'm the only Mopar guy of our group. (We have one Ford guy. But both me and my Chevy friends think something happened to him long ago? It's not discussed.) But I see how they look at my cars? Like the hot lady they didn't have the balls to ask out!

..........wow...........

Well said!!!! I’m guilty myself though- was always into chevys because the buy in was always pricey. But man I shoulda bought in sooner. I was cruising the for sale forum and went back 10 years.... don’t look! Lol

disclaimer;
Don't take what I'm about to say the wrong way

at least they aren't all turbo'd LS-*** swaps
so sick of everything LS powered
or turbo'd
I know how good they are & they can make huge power
in a stock block

I just like my 60's era MoPar better

I don't hate Chevy or GM at all
easier to make 700+hp , hell do it with bolt-ons
they do have great cylinder heads
cheaper priced quality parts, that are more readily available,
everywhere

I've had many, very fast & very cool GM builds
Pontiac Olds & Chevy
Chevy is very well supported in performance/aftermarket

Hell now, the popular GMs are even more outrageously priced
& they made far more of them usually too, go figure
then the Gen 2 Chargers are, buy almost double/triple sometimes
with equal quality in the builds

:moparsmiley: don't 'get no' respect :moparsmiley:

I like something in the big 3, of many aspects
Equal opportunity gearhead here

I just like/prefer the 60's or very early 70-71 MoPars styling better
I know how to make them handle & make far more HP
it just "usually" cost almost twice/triple as much
for equal power/parts (compared to a GM/Chevy build)
if & when you can find then & not have to give an arm & a leg for it
especially when you get over (600+hp really) 700+ hp levels
& have to have almost everything aftermarket race parts
MoPar (except gen2 Hemi) stock blocks won't do it
or not for long, without a bunch of machining & girdle, billet caps etc.
even then, most still won't last as long, sorry it's reality
Been there done that, several times over...

unless it's a fresh 'huge priced' Gen2 Hemi powered whathefuckever
(maybe even some Gen3's Hellcrate, Hellephant or Hellcats, they won't last)
& I want to go back to racing competitively
I'd do a GM again in a heartbeat (see what I did there)

but;
MoPar will always be my 1st love :moparsmiley:

I personally think my 69 charger (b body) looks (hard to beat) better but my 72 cutlass (a body) has a full frame and way more
working room & despite not as nice looking as the charger still is a very cool car.

Another thing the mopars have going for it is the 426 hemi.
GM and Ford also had great engines but not this good...

I really wish the charger had more working room but i guess with a lift you simply drop the full front end when doing a big service...
At least i would consider that. :D (Probably not as bad with smaller engines)
Some modern car owners probably wonder what i'm complaining about...

I think they have trouble competing against Wedge engines? There is a higher cost associated with Chrysler builds. But they have been chasing Mopar sense the late 50s? They had nothing to compete against the big letter cars? Early 60s was 409 vs 413. 409 struggled. Certainly with reliability as well as performance. 426 Max Wedge? No answer until the mid 60s. Then Mopar thru the Hemi at them. Again, no answer. Ford did better. But they stumbled over their own corporate feat more than GM or Chrysler. And that's saying alot!
