I need to order some replacement u-bolts for my rear suspension. I haven’t pulled one off to measure as I was hoping I could easily find some but it seems the 1973 rear suspension with the isolator pads around the springs freaks people out. I know they are 1/2”diameter and 3-1/8” on the inside spread and round top. Anybody know the length? My “on my back, tape measure in hand, everything is in my way” guess is 8-1/2”? Does that sound right?

I have a 74 with an 8 3/4 axle and they measure 7 7/8". You measure from the inside of the top curve to the bottom of the threads. They usually refer to them as 8" u-bolts. I've been looking and it's hard to find correct looking ones in this length. nationalmoparts.com have them on their site, but it doesn't look like they have the cross hatch pattern. It depends how correct you want them to be. Let us know if you have luck finding them.

Mancini racing has the correct u bolts with the flat axle tube contact.

They look plated/coated in the photo. Have you seen their 8" u-bolts? Their restoration u-bolts look accurate, but are too short.

I went with the 8” Mancini u-bolts. I’m not doing a restoration so much as a solid driver.

It's the length of the u-bolt that is the important part. I'm curious what they look like since I also need them. Can you let us know when you receive them? Thanks!
