I need some help understanding 906 head production. What is the letter I should be looking for on the combustion chamber side of the head for an A12?
I heard it might be a F
I’ve also learned that 906 heads on the B block are different than RB heads or Magnum heads.
Additionally I would be interested in purchasing a mid year 69 set.

I'm not certain..
Must be a "DATE" Correct as the "A12" package was a 1969 1/2 year produced B-Body
So, early 906 heads of the 69 Year would be correct.
1970 Date Code would be incorrect.
Henceforth, a 1968 would be incorrect.

I'm almost positive the A12 cars used the exact same 906 heads as other 383/440s. So really all you need is a correct date code. Since A12s were only scheduled to be built in late March and late April, I think any February thru April 69 date would work.

I'm probably going to catch some flack on this, but 906 heads are just that. I don't know of any differences. Nobody is going pull the valve covers on my car to check date codes or anything else and I know of no outward differences, or internal as far as that goes. Also no difference in one's on a 383 or 440. Ofcourse if I'm wrong, please educate me.

As I mentioned and Dadsbee mentioned,
It is a 1969 1/2 model year
No 1968 heads
No 1970 heads and as Dadsbee says, nothing after Feb 27th or the actual production date.
And yeah, 906s are good heads.
But Mopar used what they had.

Sorry, you can't have my Feb 27th heads.. LOL

Is that the official last date of production?
So, I imagine the 906s on A-12s are early 1969 production heads....
And, the cars are "M" codes, 383s...so maybe they just used the production 383 heads for the A-12 Mod/Package

I have no idea, my engine was built on Feb 27th is all.

I'll try again. There were TWO scheduled production dates for A12s (not counting the 1970 Hurst Chrysler 300s, which were also A12 cars!), March 29 and April 26. Those were NOT the only days they were made.
I would expect to see February thru April dates, but an argument could be made for January thru MAY. You might have trouble proving a may date, and you sure won't convince anyone on an early car.

I just got screwed by sprint getting taken over by T mobile (F#@k you T mobile). They killed the phone I owned, cause it was old, forced me to get a new "free upgrade" that's gonna cost a couple hundred bucks to lease, and managed to not transfer one single bit of data from my old phone.
But the funny thing is, the new phone is a galaxy A12.
So now I have an A12 phone, and an A12 roadrunner. Wish I was using the one as much as the other.

Yeah, T-mobile is rated one of the worst is service, along with throttling down your bandwidth and data speed...

But the A-12 B-body is rated one of the top cars, in my book...and...
No throttling down whatsoever!

please post a pic of the car?

I don't have any current photos, it's buried in my back garage and blocked in by a couple other old cars I can't move yet, but.... here's a shot from the staging lanes at riverside raceway, in the eighties. Still looks the same.

I take that back. The centerlines are on my 62 savoy now, the 15x6s are back on the runner.
The girlfriend was 6' (I'm 6'3") and her dad there was a navy vet, and a Hells Angel.

There you have it...
@dadsbee and "us" have helped answer your question....
Hope this helps
You need to have Correct Date on the heads..
BUT I would take a A-12 without heads!
Ha Ha!

PS: Hoping to move from Kalifornia to Tennessee!
Love your car....
LOVE IT!!!

Going to the river in Arizona, eventually. Lots more room, LOTS bigger garages!

I MAY decide to move there...Kingman I had checked out last August...35 miles from Bull Head City...
Are you moving to Bull Head?
I have a BASS Boat, we could fish!

Iirc red (HP) vs blue(LP) painted valve springs would be the only difference between 906 heads with the stronger red springs coming on 335HP 383s & 375/390HP 440s.

Other than the casting date 906 heads were all the same.
The A12 cars had chrome flashed valve stems and black striped valve springs that were between the magnum and hemi springs in strength.
