Charlie Watts won't be making the Rolling Stones' farewell tour 18.0

RIP Chuck

80 is a good run for a rocker

R.I.P.

One anecdote relates that in the mid-1980s, an intoxicated Jagger phoned Watts's hotel room in the middle of the night, asking, "Where's my drummer?" Watts reportedly got up, shaved, dressed in a suit, put on a tie and freshly shined shoes, descended the stairs, and punched Jagger in the face, saying: "Never call me your drummer again." He expressed regret for the incident in 2003, attributing his behaviour to alcohol.

Damn sad news. I saw Mick and the boys in the late 80's and was hoping to get to one more of their concerts on the current tour. Just won't be the same without Charlie. RIP to the drummer of the greatest rock and roll band.....

Keith Richards tells it in his autobiography. Pretty much as you relate it here.

I had to go see the Stones in the late 70's before they broke up, at RFK stadium in Washington... they never broke up. RIP .

I was always a fan, but somewhat jaded about their fame as I was and am a heavy metal guy. Then I saw the Stones in the mid eighties. I‘ve been to somewhere around fifty major name rock concerts. THE STONES WERE FLAT OUT THE BEST LIVE BAND EVER! Absolutely mesmerizing.

The 'Stone's third and longest lasting drummer...I guess he'll meet Brian Jones and Ian Stewart now.
R.I.P Charlie...you never made it to retirement.

Don't know if this is completely true, but guy on the radio said he had quite an extensive classic car collection, but he didn't know how to drive (or maybe chose not to ??)

As cruel as it is to say, and I'm sure it's out there because they bet on everything! But, I have to wonder what the odds are in Vegas on who the next Stone is to go down?
