It's seriously getting to look like a scene from The Road Warrior.
I guess I drive like an old man, but it's a requirement now to be defensive.
Most of the freeways around here are 3-4 lanes wide, and you look ahead or behind in your mirror and cars are just shooting across all Lanes, passing on all sides, tailgating like they are in pursuit of a murder suspect.
Lady in front of me at Wendy's drive thru banged into the car in front of her.
I don't know where we're headed, but it doesn't look good.

I deal with that crap and more everyday, and it wears on me, that's for sure.

I couldn’t agree more. I was out for a ride with my wife for lunch today in my 67 Coronet. On the way home, a young kid ran a stop sign and missed my front fender by a few feet. He was trying to beat traffic coming from another direction. It’s absolutely crazy out there!

I'm so glad I don't live in the rat race anymore
rural living & rarely ever even go to the inner-shitty
we don't have a freeway for 75+ to 100 miles

going on my 15th year here, how time flys
I was rural before for about 10 years, 20 or miles from Sacramento
not like here thou
120 miles away now
I've owned something up hear for about 40 years
(my Granddad's old cabin orig. at 9,000 ft & my dad has been here since 1980)
I should have done it sooner
I bitch about the snow & cold, but everyone does :poke:
but;
I was too involved, making too much $$ in the rat race to leave earlier

I wouldn't have it any other way either

my temper, my attitude towards people
& my stress levels &/or blood-pressure
thanks, me for it

until the tourist show up :BangHead:

Anyone have suggestions for a good/great dashcam?

Try driving in the metro Detroit area......good lord some people drive like ****!

No not really

Does GoPro make a dashcam ?
There are dash mounts for GoPro cameras, but GoPros can't take the heat of a closed up car in the summer. I can't bring a camera into my workplace.

Reminds me of how it was when I was a kid, no sooner some asshole would go shooting by us when a cop was soon on his/her tail in pursuit. On the other hand, never heard of a Mexican here getting a speeding ticket (speed bumps are fairly effective on surface streets-the very reason I jack up the torsions bars around here).

It's nuts everywhere. I saw a guy come off a highway exit ramp and the light changed red just before he got there. Right turn is allowed but he barely slowed down before going through the red light. The only problem for him was that there was a cop sitting on the other end of the bridge. Next thing I know is here comes the cop with his light blinking away going after him and pulled him over.

When I built my house on farmland in my in-law’s family since the 1840’s, it was RURAL, now it’s a burb with all the subdivisions that went up and bunch more being built. My driveway is about ¼ mile long out to a county highway. Used to be pretty desolate stretch of road; not in the least anymore. 40 mph limit? **** dat…50 or more. Take my *** in my hand just getting the mail now. Just this past Monday coming home with groceries I waited to turn in my driveway; I was a tad more patient waiting for traffic to go by before scooting in my drive so not to tip the groceries. Look in my mirror and a guy in his SUV was so close to my rear couldn’t see anything but his windshield. Well he starts laying on his horn unable to wait the extra 5 seconds while I waited for the last car to go by. Gotdamn sat there another few seconds giving him a hand signal of his IQ. More often it is ******* tailgaters, seems worse when I’m driving my old ride – drive 64 in a 55 zone, don’t matter, on my ***. Now I’ll just slow down to the speed limit to piss 'em off more.

So... why the hell did you come to New Jersey ?!?!!

I've had multiple people pass me on the left as I'm trying to turn left into my driveway with my turn signal on.
Seems like the police don't pull people over for traffic offenses anymore.
Hell the city police can't keep up with the murders going on.

I see some sort of incident every single day to and from work. People think because they put their blinker on it gives them the right to cut you off...my dad and I keep saying that when the Charger is finished we are only going to drive it in the middle of the night to avoid people...it seems that our chances of hitting a deer at night is less than getting hit by an idiot during the day...

I do about a 40 mile commute in phoenix. Traffic levels have gone way up in the last couple months. Worse than before the China virus. My theory is that the California transplants and those who haven driven much in the last year and a half are really screwing it up.

This area...the amount of cars on the road have doubled in the last year. Nobody is working! It's like rush hour in the middle of the day. And the majority are complete idiots!

Just yesterday on a semi-rural 50 MPH 2 lane as I was pulling out and getting up to speed, an oncoming car starts veering into my lane.

As it approached and I slowed down and moved toward the shoulder, I could clearly see a woman holding her phone straight in front of her face, pointed like she was filming where she was driving?!?

I calculated the angle she was at, and deduced she had also just come from the shoulder as if she had run off the road before going left of center.

WTF??

Its harvest time here in Iowa.
All kinds of farm equipment and farm to market wagons and trucks.
All the 2 lane state and county roads are used.
You have to slow your *** down and be aware of slow moving traffic.
People just don't get it. I work every day in our body shop we get more work in each week than we can put out the door.
Job security.
