Block strength

We found the limit on the tune up in hot weather. Piston #2 as well. First time its melted and hurt one in years. 360, non intercooled, 9.5-1, E 85, 22 degrees, 22psi. The rest of the engine is perfect. Went 140mph on this pass

Are you running Nitrous. Last time I saw that is when we where trying to run the Nitrous combo and all we had was button and a squiter. Held the button too long and burned the pistion. Or should I say mealted it down.

Man it really got hot. Do you think you where too lean on that hole. When pulling down my 383 noticed that one piston hole had a lot more heat in that area. looking at the motor left bank number four.

#1 is usually the one we keep an eye on. We were leaning on it pretty good in the heat trying to run 10.0 shootout with a broken converter. This run it ran 10.00@139.9. Pump E85 could've been suspect as well. Its been together a long time with no issues. The other 7 pistons are fine.
