NO MORE NEW HEMIS

Unless/until the government regulates them out of existence.

Look at what they've done to oil exploration and production in the last 11 months, and tell me they can't / won't do it.
I agree but let's not go there in this thread.

This is the post of the year. Don’t buy them!

VW, Toyota and Tesla are telling them the infrastructure won’t support it, they don’t care if the worker bees have reliable daily go anywhere transportation.

they won’t buy them, but want us to buy them. It’s all special interest and they are getting paid off! Just like opec oil. Why do you think they ran straight back there on day one? Awake yet?

Most people won't be able to afford them or will have to go up to their eyeballs in debt to buy one, which is the plan, and there are a lot of gas powered cars that are already ridiculously expensive.
Wait till they start having wrecks with these EV's and see how that works out. The big lie is about saving the environment - a few wealthy clowns are going to make a lot of money destroying the environment (resources for batteries for example) while pretending to save the environment. The grid can't handle as many of these things as they need to and you will see people stuck because there's not enough power to charge their EV POS. Then see what happens with "renewable energy" and of course the oh so reliable unicorn farts.

And let's not forget the population size in a couple of years...

Nothing bad. I'm 65 and who knows how long I will last, may be another 10 years? May be more. I might be around at 80 but not able to get around for car shows and cruises. You never know what direction life will take you. Play while you can.

I thought you might be suggesting that the hobby itself was coming to an end.

I talked to my buddy, Ed, this morning. He picked up his new Challenger Hellcat on Tuesday, after waiting 9 months for it. They are all made just up the road here in Toronto.

Well it might but I don't want to believe it or go there. We can keep it alive (I hope) by continuing to make it popular. Our local Memorial day cruise and Show and shine fetches a thousand cars. That's what I'm talking about.

Get the kids involved. They love it! I give rides, let them sit in my car, etc.

I’m hoping to persuade my youngest of the three to get into cars. Planes, trains and history! My oldest only likes euro trash and swears my stuff is junk but won’t say it to me.. it actually stings when he pulls in the driveway in his little Benz ragtop.. I was taught to buy and support only American made.. I believe it and live by it, him it’s not even a thought ...

I know people like that. Cars were never meant for the common man, that's why American automotive production is so important historically. Even today you have a what, $100K Hellcat that out performs a $600K supercar? For that kind of money, it better be fast. It better lay golden eggs as well. This is why I love Dodge:

Drives good enough for me!
Dodge can make a brick go fast! SRT Jeep!
5000 launches without a glitch. That Lamborghini is butt ugly...

I've heard there are some places that have laws that you can only drive your classic car one day a week.
Depends on the tags here in Maryland. "Historic" or year of manufacture tags, you "aren't supposed to drive them every day". I got nabbed years ago because I was driving my Satellite and went past the same cop's house, every day. Whoops, heheh. "Sorry officer, my other car has its transmission out right now and I have to get to school". That was enough for that one, no ticket, just a "reminder not to do it".

Some other states have a "Sundays only" rule, or a "to and from shows only" rule...but not Maryland (yet).

Of course, the solution in MD is put normal tags on it - but that subjects you to inspections, emissions tests, and stuff like that (Historics are exempt from all of those).

It’s funny to see Matt in a serious role but I like his descriptions... big old American balls! Yep he nailed it ! That would be a fun ride.

I guess the world is going to come to this. I think I need to re-watch Mad Max.

Here is something of note. Georgia just landed a 5 billion dollar Rivian production plant. These are EV trucks and Vans. But I think this plant will be a battery assembly plant.

Marketing people love drama and attention. Stellantis marketing people are no different and are going to do anything and everything to stay in the limelight...keep their products in the limelight. It's all so well orchestrated by Stellantis and the automotive writers. It will be interesting to see how many Challengers and Chargers they actually sell before the curtains fall.

We're not too many more generations from it. Young people can't afford them even if they're interested. The cost of fuel and replacement parts, not to mention the cheap crappy parts that fail, also factor in.

I wonder if they’ll be like the Demons, and parked with 7 miles on them never to be driven.:(:)

His reaction to the acceleration seemed genuine and he's absolutely right: that will never get old! I'll take that over some overpriced euro trash any day!
big old American balls!

That's why my cars are all male...no tits on those beasts!

I concur,
Many of us on this forum are past our fifties or sixties, some in poor health that no longer have the physical abilities to enjoy our car hobby to its fullest. And spend many hours of their day on the FBBO discussing MOPARs or POLITICS.
I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of the Mopar car hobby and will continue to own, drive and work on cars, boats and utvs as long as my health allows.
Life can throw many curves, so enjoy while you can.

I just so happen to be one of those people of whom you speak.
Looking at 71 years old and in relatively good health, but just don't have the energy and mobility to do things I did just 5 years ago, which is very frustrating!
So as others have said, enjoy every day while you can.
I'm still working part time and finishing up things on my Roadrunner, just not like in years past.
