Bought a pretty clean '66

What a stunning survivor, congratulations on being able to give this car a good home in the company of other spectacular examples. You are living large sir, good for you!

Nice Plymouth Mark! It is nice to see the 66 models in that original condition!
55 years old,, Where does time go? In 1966 I was pumping gas at my dad's station, and saw those cars come in day in and day out, shiney new!

I have a couple of questions:
Which shields are you speaking of that are metal for 66? The ones up front by the strut rods? My car only have bolts there and an outline in the dirt.
Are your bumper bolts "domed" or flat style?

Shouldn't your tailpanel have red accent stripe painted in???

Thanks in Advance Ron

Yes, by the strut rods ,
Bumper bolts are pretty flat
Red trimmed tail panel is satellite.
Belvedere is silver

OK so now you know I'm going to have to see these metal shields right?????

Very nice 66!!! Funny thing is I also have all the documentation on my 66.....drum roll...../6 Belvedere I with factory AC, auto and rubber floor mats. I've even talked to the descendants that now own the dealership that sold the car and they still know the family of the guy that bought the car. It's no longer a dealership though but it's still named 'Central Garage'. Why did I call? Was interested to see if the place was still there and didn't expect it to be. The car even had just about all the parts that were ever replaced still in the trunk along with a record book of everything that was ever done to it including each time it was filled up until the original owner died. Never did get why anyone that bought a low line car would do that unless they were pretty much dirt poor?

This has to be an unusual model, right? In 1966 there was no Road Runner, no GTX, R/T Dodges or anything that we associate with specific performance models. The '66 cars look sedate in comparison. Big surprise at the traffic light drags when the basic looking car next to you runs away at the green before you can react.
My first car was a 66 Belvedere II that came with a poly teen but a 383 took it's place in 70.....and left the 318 emblem on the hood. Had a lot of fun running away from the 'competition' at the lights thinking it was going to be an easy kill.

Those are Belvedere II hub caps I believe Satellite have spinners.
Yup. My II had the same caps....no spinner.

I actually found the originals in the box with the 4 wheel covers. To my surprise, they are metal.
Still have all the original metal ones from my Belvedere I....

66 to 67 should be known as the start to " The Great Downgrade".
I look at it as putting the cars on a diet. That metal adds up.

Santa paid me a visit today disguised as a FedEx driver....

Also, I got this vintage picture sent to me of the original owner. Same wheels and tires are on it now....
