High Gas prices = no more classic cars?

Find out who own the lithium mines. Who lobbies and fund pols. A certain company called QuantumScape with a certain someone with a $4.6 billion dollar investment in that company. Following the money is always a good way to find out why things are happening with the people behind that money having stated their clear goals in past interviews. People at the lower rungs of the ladder will probably end up selling their classics to afford necessities to live and the rich will buy them up and hold until when/if things turn back around. Regulations are killers, shutting down pipelines are killers, relying on foreign natural resources are killers. Fun fact, America was energy independent in 2019 for the first time since 1957 and gas was cheap and the guy running the country at the time cut massive regulations. These newer model vehicles with all the electronics can also be shut down remotely if you get where I'm going with that. Careful not to upset TPTB.

Now that 91 octane unleaded is over $5.50/gal, buying 110 leaded makes much more sense to me - even at $8.99/gal. Around here, race gas hasn't gone up near as much percentage-wise in comparrison to unleaded.
 
I have four cars with /6 at 22.4 miles to the gallon which is better than my gmc at 14 if your going down hill so I will get a lot seat time this year with my fleet of gas busters !!!!!!!!!!!
Dont worry... i will throw in $50 every trip to my place... it should help!
 
High gas prices+scamdemic parts and supply "shortages"+epa threats against OEM late model muscle cars+the lawsuits against aftermarket performance vendors...been in the works for a few years now ...If you're just now catching on you've been asleep at the wheel brothers and sisters!

I use 110 in my car, it’s $8.99 a gallon. It didn’t go up, so no, I don’t drive mine any less, in fact I drive it more because gas for my daily driver is $5.30, and I use a lot more gas in that than I do for the Roadrunner.
 
I just paid 5.31 a gallon for 93 octane here in North Florida !
Need to check on the price of racing fuel at the Sunoco on the south side of town. Guy at the last car show I went to last month said it was over $10 a gallon for the 112 Supreme
$6.25 Metro Detroit for 93 octane.
 
At least so far, this show and cruise season attendance at local car events I frequent do not seem affected, despite 87 being 5.70-6.00.
I’m going to be giving second thoughts to going to further away events but not let high gas prices keep me away from anything within a 25 mile radius of my house, which fortunately is a lot of cruises and a few shows.
 
This whole thing reminds me of Henry Orbit's old car in the Jetson's cartoon.

Gotta wonder how these gas prices are going to affect the attendance of the Power Tour.
 
All of my cars are classics now.....well, what defines a classic lol. I barely drive 2000 miles a year and that total miles. Haven't driven much since I retired. Heck, my 2500 diesel Dodge was filled up in December and it still has 3/4's of a tank in it. It's showing 139 miles on the trip and the truck will go 500 on a tank but I'm about to put about 30 on the GT (Green Thang) Dakota.....
 
Our cars have already been outlawed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Both states passed new green deal legislation that state that our cars can no longer be registered or operated in these states after a certain date.

14.5 MPG average in my 3700 pound Satellite.
Likely can do better with some attention to tuning.

I'm personally longing for another big block but no where is it written "classic" cars have to be single digit MPG.

The "Teen" in my Swinger get's 18+ with a 3.23 and a 255-60/15 tire.
 
Just by changing my driving habits a bit my 2014 Ran 5.7 Hemi went from 15 MPG all around,to 19 MPG.
