FiTech FI but general fuel line question

I heard back from my friend Dave.
He said" Warm starts, often won't start. The injectors were all cheap crap, that we finally replaced with another brand. And, when we first bought it, they sent it to us with software for a four barrel, not a six barrel. I think the new valves are Bosch, but haven't taken it out and driven it since we changed them out. The fire tech injectors weren't worth crap."

@69ChargerR/TSE, thanks for the clarification. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but did you have to start it to find out it was a 4bbl setup? The reason I'm asking is that it is going to take a bit longer than anticipated to get it started up and I don't want it to be out of warranty by the time we start to figure that out. I'm on the fence on whether or not I need to return it, with what I have heard. At least till I am able to work on it again.... Again, thanks for the info, it really is useful.

He has the FiTech 6 pack set up. He is currently looking to get something else. He might end up with buying 6 pack carbs.

I’ve installed a new areomotive fuel tank with the in tank pump. I purchased the wire harness that runs from the tank to the engine compartment. Question I am wondering the instruction talk as if are to run the wires on the outside. Any concerns with me running them on the inside of the car?

Just make sure its fused in case of a short!

It is fused. I guess I do not understand the concern. I would think it would be more likely for the wires to be impacted underneath the car versus inside. If it shorts on the inside of the car or the outside my assumption the result is the same. Thanks

I'm curious how long it took you to get your tank? Mine has been on backorder since I ordered it about 5 weeks ago.

Hello all. I've been reading with great interest accounts of y'all converting your cars to FI. I've decided to do the same, buying parts in anticipation of doing the work this fall/winter. I've read a lot of info but haven't read the answer to my question today. For those of you with 1971 (and I must assume 72-74) who have made the switch, have any of you successfully used the fuel tank emissions vent hardline (on the pass inner fender) for the system fuel return-to-tank line?

I am going to install the 6-Barrel system (39610 Go EFI Tri-Power 600HP System - FiTech Fuel Injection)

Using the force fuel pump/sump (50004 Force Fuel System - FiTech Fuel Injection) mounted probably where the stock washer fluid bottle is. My plan is to use the stock mechanical fuel pump to pump gas to the fuel pump/sump assy.

If any of you report problems with my proposal of using the tank emissions vent for the return line, I will likely plumb a braded steel/AN fitting return line to (an also yet to install port on) the fuel tank like this one (51002Black Stainless Steel Hose Kit, 20ft w/ 10 Micron Filter and Check Valve - FiTech Fuel Injection).

Nice work to all of you who have posted progress/completion stories.
1969 Cuda 408 procharger, FiTech EFI frame mounted electric pump, stock tank, did use the vent line for the return no issues.

Theres no insulation, carpet, etc to catch fire underneath if it shorts out. That said, I don’t suppose the risk is any higher than taillight wiring running inside the car!

As said, too much heat under the hood. Go the difficult route or not at all IMO.

I don’t recall mine taking that long. Could have been timing before supplies shortages started getting worse. I got mine through summit.

Thinking the same. There is a metal channel in the car by the door where other wires go. I also see modern cars run on the inside.

In tank pump with high pressure lines. Easier said than done.
I simply purchased the tank with the pump already from Areomotive. I think it was called the stealth tank. I didn't have a tank for the car anyways.
