What is the reason? There's a reason why the manufacturers rounded (usually up).

'Cause "445.62487 Magnum" as an emblem would be more expensive and look stupid... Well factory would have been "439.72 Magnum".... Same result. What is the reason?
Exactly!Only to make thing's perfect where every last fraction of horsepower makes a difference in who wins.
Someone probably already answered this but yes...... .015" per side so pick your side lolso a .030 bore only removes .015 of metal?........ I never thought about it
Yep it's No difference than a tire being a 1 inch taller it actually only has the vehicle go up 1/2 inch...Someone probably already answered this but yes...... .015" per side so pick your side lol![]()
On one side. LMFAO.so when my waste line expands by an inch, it's only half an inch? winning!![]()
On one side. LMFAO.
On one side. LMFAO.
I should have made it clear, offset boring is diametrically opposed to to making it perfectly to blueprint. But is perfectly on- point to increasing hpOnly to make thing's perfect where every last fraction of horsepower makes a difference in who wins.
Gotta love this place!!!!! I've been a mod on lots of sites but never like this one!!! This site is the best!! LOL
I simply answered it in post#2. I should have closed this thread then.
Does 30 thousands mean they took that much off each side so the diameter is 60 thousand wider or does it mean they took 15 thousand off each side and the diameter is 30 thousand wider ?
OK I am backIt's crazy some of the discussions we get into on these forums. The OP asked a fairly simple question because he didn't know or understand and I simply answered it in post#2. I should have closed this thread then. All the BS posts here are just going to confuse the fellow. He hasn't been back online since he posted his question.
It's not importantOK I am back
Just was not sure what what numbers to use
From math class volume is PIE R times R times height
Factory bore of 4.320 and stroke of 3.75
22/7 times 2.16 times 2.16 times 3.75 works out to 54.98 per cylinder times 8 gives 439.89
At 30 thousands over is 4.35
22/7 times 2.175 times 2.175 times 3.75 works out to 55.75 per cylinder times 8 gives 446.03
My engine is 60 thousands over so 4.38
22/7 times 2.19 times 2.19 times 3.75 works out to 56.52 per cylinder times 8 gives 452.20
So what it boild down to is when anyone asks what engine I have I can say a 452 under my hood
Thanks for all the replies as I was getting stuck on did 30 thousands over mean they took 30 thousands off the wall to clean it up which would mean both sides or was the bore 30 thousands bigger in total
