Replica General Lee Jumps Fountain in Summerset Kentucky

The guy that did the jump was just on the radio and he says all the body parts are AMD and he can build another one in 2 weeks. I don't know how but he wants to build another one. Said he basically hangs inside from the roll cage on bungees chords so not to crush his back.

I didn't watch any of the videos "yet"
is it one of them 'Crown Vics/frame & driveline"
with the AMD repo-sheet metal from a 69 Charger, hung on it (ain't cheap)
just to look like the DOH GL... all painted up

it was common place for stunts, in recent years
no real Charger's were harmed in the stunts, just good AMD retso-sheet metal

just another (of the like a million) clones of the GL, no harm no foul

that sheet metal to do it,
what a waste of good restoration parts, someone would love to have
at least it's not a real Charger or real OE parts

I don't know where this was or when but they sure pancaked it at the end! (Says at the Nats.)

The guy that jumped it said on the radio that he did jump at the nats and it went over 200' making it the longest jump ever by a General Lee.
Don't know if that really counts as it is a replica car.

That is a risk of the job.
In 1999 I jumped a car for a home video I was making. A guy was recording from a similar position as the guy in the video above. When I landed, the right front control arm bent back and tried to steer me toward him. I cranked hard left and did a soft rollover onto the roof. Camera guy was safe. I lived through it too.

Have you posted that video on here?

No, I have not. I should.

I need to load it to YouTube.

Well, they were MY cars and the jumps were on private property....

Thank God they didn't use a Subaru................ That would have been gay!! Being light in the loafers, it may never have come back down.
