Backside of the Legendary Interiors rear quarter panel. I waterproofed the surface just to be safe and will add the vapor barrier and install next.

First piece done! Rear seat bottom. The quotes for just the labor to put these covers on ranged from $1200-$2000. So once again time to learn another trade.

Ok Back seat upper and lower done. I’ll consider this 35% completed because the front buckets will require a lot more work as I have to dye the plastic to white and there is a lot more complexity in the assembly.

Stripping the old laminate took 3 steps. As previously mentioned you have to remove the outer barrier in order to strip the laminate. Getting a clean surface is important as the new vinyl will show any imperfections. I used Detroit Muscle’s Walnut overlay’s. Great quality 3M vinyl. Cut was perfect! I give them 5 Stars on this one. The color match is really good as well.

Lower front bucket seats are a definite PITA. I found it’s best to also glue up the muslin to the frame for a clean smooth surface during pad installation. Also make sure the listing wire is in the top surface (ie felt layer) just below the pad. If not youl never be able to hog ring it to the cover.

The upholstery is going very well. I have everything done except for the driver seat. I will do that when all the door panels are in. Note I updated the above posts to include the passenger bucket seat.
I had made and painted a custom seam cover on the back of the arm rest. The original was to rough to salvage.

Getting ready to install the interior. Thought I would isolate the trunk and create a thermal barrier. Note the factory barrier. I used the old worn one to trace the new one out of the compressed fiber board similar to the factory. Hopefully I will be able to the seat in.

Wow, those seats really pop. Nice job. My fingers hurt after doing my seats but it is totally worth it to do yourself.

Thanks Mark! Yes the seats should look really nice with the orange. I waited over a year for Legendary Auto Interiors out of NY. I think they have one craftsman left doing them serially. But they are beautiful and should be for what they charge.

Man this color match is spot on IMHO.
I did it off a color chart on the computer.

The rear compartment is done. At some point in the future if the wrinkles don’t smooth out I might pull it tighter but for now I can say it’s decent.
