Remember back in the 90s, the “urban” types would give
props to those that earned their respect? (MTV culture)
The crew remembered last year when Mark/Richard Cranium wondered why there wasn’t any Prime Rib or Lobster AND lo and behold, the FBBO underlords made it so…. But just for Mark. It
must be good to be king.
Don Frelier was there… a few years ago he helped me out by putting me in contact with his brother. I got a used cam with matched lifters and so far, Jigsaw is still running great. I wish I would have written down all the members that I spoke with. Hawk and Pete donated most of their time making the event a great thing. I don’t even know if they had any time to walk the cars or parts. I wasn’t there to buy parts but I am a junkyard dog at heart so I had to look. Mary was a great companion but as I saw her wilt and sweat, I just couldn’t push her any further. Nobody was renting Radio Flyer wagons so I couldn’t just drag her around. We spent as much time in the tent as the show field. I would have liked to walk the show cars more but the guys in the tent were fun to hang out with.
If you guys were jerks, if you smelled bad or were really ugly it would have made it easier to stay away from the tent and see more of the show.
Today as I’m out in the back yard, I thought of how as kids, our parents guilted us into eating our vegetables by telling us
there are kids starving in China ! By that, I mean that despite 100 degree temps, I had to get out there to do some things. So, I’m out back and it is hot, but….
You guys know that I mentioned numerous times that I had gained a newfound respect for how tough you are to deal with your humidity. I absolutely mean that.
Have you ever spent time where the humidity is this low?
I felt quite blessed as I walked around out back. The cost of this drier climate is that we don’t have that beautiful green grass everywhere that you do this time of year.
Cheers.
